If only for this week, I can truthfully say that I am currently doing FOUR SHOWS AT ONCE.
Saturday (3/15): auditioned for "The Odd Couple"
Monday (yesterday): rehearsed for "Golden Age of Radio" and "Reunion at Hippie High"
Wednesday: first meeting for "The Odd Couple", rehearsal for "Reunion at Hippie High"
Thursday: possible (final) rehearsal for "Magical Murder of Oz"
Friday: final performance for "Magical Murder of Oz"
In addition to the three shows I'm already doing, I have been cast in "The (Female) Odd Couple" as one of the Costazuela brothers. Between March 21 and May 21 of this year, I will have performed all four of these plays at least once within the course of two months. FOUR PLAYS IN TWO MONTHS! And if I end up doing an MSI improv show in early May (which is currently being mulled over), that would technically bring it to five. Add those figures to the success of "Magical Murder of Oz" (this past Friday being our best show ever), and you've got some guy named David who's actually starting to impress himself.
The next step now, of course, is to land a major role in a musical (or two) by the end of the year (my first chance to truly sing since "Beast" in '06). If I can successfully juggle that with work (which has been going well so far), an early-Summer play that I've been asked to try out for, and some minor involvement in "Dead Air" (which John "Tin Man" Olcott will be directing), and anything else that comes my way (including DVD projects), then I'll be right where I want to be.
Another sign we're off to a good start: I managed to drink one shamrock shake for every March day prior to, and including, Saint Patrick's Day.
