Finally I am in BHSAD! My dream come true!
Well, first of all I want to say that I will try to write in English (so if you find mistakes let me know)
My first week was wonderful, exciting and very hard.
Our course director
Daniel Hopkinson is a very nice person, the same as all other tutors.
There are a huge numbers of people on Foundation course. There are about 180 people. And honestly I don't remember even faces of my group-mates (naturally names too).
The most of students are russians but we need to speak to each other in English. It is the hardest thing for me, to start speaking English.
Our first task was find people with surname that start with the same letter as yours. Next, to find people with the same age as you.
After that actions we start working, we must stick a lot of paper together and than we started to draw.
We drew each other, drew our expressions of music, drew standing on one feet, we drew each others hands, drew behind us. We sat on the floor together, drew everything we want. Fantastic atmosphere!
This picture was made by me. There is happiness drawing by right feet, in the middle sadness by left feet, and in the bottom Steve Jobs drawn with close eyes)))
Next day we in a small groups needed to make our own superhero.
I was SuperFearlessRussianWoman. Who had a horse - her friend and partner, and burning house as protection;) It was very funny. Later our Superheroes fought with each other. By the way we used our first day papers with drawing.
After lunch we all sat in the big hall and drew again.
We drew without lifting the pencil from the paper, drew by to hand in the same time, drew space between people, portraits...
Then everyone drew his shoes
and we put it together ))))
Next day we drew outside. We had tree tasks.
I wasn't successful that day, but I enjoyed process.
Every day we must reflect everything we did. We make sketches and notes in our sketchbooks.
Next day was really hard and crazy! I will write separate post about it. We constructed drawing machine.
On Friday we showed our drawing machine experience results.
And the most funny task was Fluxus drawing
Our tutors
James Johnson-Perkins and
Michael Levin joined us.
I love it!
I really enjoyed this week, but it was really hard, my brain begin work harder, it's amazing how much we have learned this week. Just week. I didn't sleep whole this week, you have a lot of things to do there. You must work hard if you study here.
