| Archive + Downloads | In the last unimposing chapter of the Dashwood's, Freddie developed a personality, one which clashed with Darcy's dreams of raising a polite and respectful family. Catherine grew up into a well-mannered child who could be the poster girl for Laura Ashley and Henry decided to work from home so he could work on his novel.
We return to Eltham Drift and Catherine has managed to rouse Dickens from a nap it seems.
Darcy meanwhile finally conquered the stove. At last.
The first time the Dashwood's sit down together for a family meal Darcy leaves as soon as Freddie sits down. The tension in the house had reached a tipping point, Henry and Catherine acting as peace keepers when Freddie decided to provoke Darcy.
Henry's methods of distraction have been working wonderfully, although Catherine seems a little annoyed that he can't practise these methods elsewhere.
Freddie's war against Darcy has spun out of control. He has begun to rig everything. Here are the pranks set up on the lower floor. The upper floor is worse.
Perhaps a birthday might help break the tension?
But not after Henry falls victim to prank number one.
Freddie is able to enjoy the success of a prank well done just as he steps up to the birthday cake.
The family's reaction to Freddie's new look....
As I feared, Freddie has clearly decided to embrace his dreams of becoming a magician...but maybe he has taken a little too much inspiration from Criss Angel.
While clearing away the plates from the cake Henry discovers prank location umber two.
...And three
"Why does this always happen to me?"
That night Darcy wakes up to find herself feeling quite unwell. If Henry wanted to distract Darcy from Freddie's attitude he's done a pretty solid job it seems.
A gratuitous picture of Dickens. The pets don't really do much these days, which is a shame as my game loathes them and since Jasper joined the family the lag has increased a lot. But I love the and can't bear to put them up for adoption so Dickens and Jasper will stay.
Back in the kitchen Darcy had popped down to grab some leftover waffles that she was craving, only to be sidelined by Freddie who apparently couldn't sleep.
Freddie has mastered "the look"
But he learnt it from the best.
"Darcy attempted to reason with her wayward son. After all, if there was the possibility of another little one on the way Darcy would need all hands on deck. Freddie's attitude was too much and our brave heroine finally explained that enough was enough. If Freddie wished to pursue a career in magic tricks then Darcy and Henry would support him, but he had to start acting his age for once."
"Darcy could only hope the message got through. Is that too dramatic? It seems a bit over the top but the emotion of the conversation has to be expressed some way."
Catherine remains the polar opposite to her older brother. He we see her doing the most rebellious thing yet. Eating cake for breakfast on a Saturday. I know. It's quite shocking.
Henry had joined Darcy as an adult but unlike his wife he seemed to be struggling with his age and was going through a midlife crisis. Which meant that Henry needed to take a trip to the salon in order to get a "hip" new look.
The stylist had the gall to call out Henry's weight. There's nothing wrong with Henry miss, you keep quiet thank you very much.
While Henry may be impressed with his new, younger look I was appalled.
This is better. A slightly more mature look I think.
During her shift Darcy had to leave for a third maternity leave. At this point my game had a few issues. After saving and exiting I returned the next day hoping to play and the save file had corrupted. Thankfully the backup file was unaffected and I was able to continue with the Dashwood's but I'd lost a good few sim days play so if there are any inconsitencies fro this point onward that is why.
This is Hope Kern, a girl who invited Freddie home one day from school. She also seemed to be interested in performance arts. We may or may not see her again, depending on whether I can find her again. She disappeared the second time I loaded the game.
Henry was ecstatic to hear Darcy was pregnant again, although they both realised the child would be too young to contend for heirship.
Catherine was equally excited to hear she would be a big sister and began practising her baby caring skills with Jasper.
Of course, children don't stay that way forever and it was soon Catherine's birthday.
Freddie was acting more calmly recently and even made the effort to leave his room to cheer on his little sister.
Henry as always, cheered on his little girl. He's a wonderful father. Darcy was napping in the next room although she did come in for cake.
Well.
Catherine is by far one of the prettiest sims to be born in my game. She rolled Dramatic which should mean she develops a personality beyond live in maid and peace keeper.
I have to leave you there. I had initially played to a point where the third child had been born so I have a lot of gameplay to make up for thanks to the strange error. I've decided kiddie 3 will be too young to contend for heirship and well...Freddie just doesn't seem right for the job as much as I love him so I think that this time around I won't have an heir poll. Catherine is too much her mother's daughter. But once Catherine ages up don't worry, it won't be the last we see of Freddie. Not by a long shot. As always, thank you for reading!
