Miss Dashwood's Dashing Broughtupcy | Three

We return to a very peaceful and serene household. Newlyweds Darcy and Henry appear to have settled into a comfortable routine.

Darcy in particular has taken to married life like a duck to water. In fact, she's applying her rather meagre cooking skills and is attempting to cook Henry's favourite meal.

Dickens remains a stoic but fluffy observer throughout all this. He is especially pleased with his new kitty condo.

It should be noted that Darcy is yet to cook anything without burning it. This is however the first fire.

I can't say I've been looking forward to this inevitable event. It was only a matter of time.

"How did this happen?"
"I was distracted by my overly active internal monologue again!"

Honestly.

"This did not go as I had hoped!"

Introducing Lucinda Suarez, the world's most unsure firefighter. I think it was her first day.

Once Lucinda left Darcy rushed to the bathroom to suffer through her morning sickness. Her timing is impeccable.

As is Henry's apparently. Good grief. If it isn't one thing...

(I realise I forgot to give you all Henry's traits last time so here we go. Couch Potato, Loser, Good, Clumsy, and Bookworm. His favourites are Pop music, Mac'n'Cheese and the colour Turquoise! Right, back to it)

Right. Once Darcy was able to leave the bathroom, the stove was replaced, the kitchen was cleaned, and the leaky sink was fixed...Darcy and Henry were able to finally enjoy a quiet moment.

It seemed this would be the best time to pop.

"Henry, darling, I have wonderful news. I'm...pregnant!"

Henry took it quiet well. As well as a clumsy loser could anyway. Let's hope he doesn't drop the baby.

Darcy then rolled the want to move in with Henry. The picture is actually pretty self explanatory.

I had hoped that as most of my sims are very competent cooks and only seem to burn food when pregnant, perhaps it would be the other way with Darcy.

No such luck.

Henry proved himself to be the perfect husband and cooked Darcy some grilled cheese sandwiches before surreptitiously disposing of the ruined pancakes.

"Darcy will never have to know."

The rest of the pregnancy went quite smoothly. There were no more house fires or broken appliances and Henry even earned himself a promotion at the hospital.

Which was quite helpful considering Darcy went into labour not long after.

Both parents were thrilled. I'm almost certain of it.

Introducing Freddie Dashwood. He's inherited his father's pale skintone and grey eyes, but he has his mother's hair. Sadly he hasn't inherited her ears as well but maybe next time.

Freddie is an eccentric slob, with his favourites being Chinese music, Hamburgers and Turquoise, just like his papa. He should prove to be quite a handful when he gets older. He's also ridiculously adorable.

Soon enough the small house was filled with children's toys. It was like Freddie had always been there...

...much to Dickens' dismay. Poor thing has been feeling a smidge ignored lately what with the new baby and he's taken to wailing from underneath the couch at all hours of the day. He's quite persistent.

Darcy seems to be a natural parent and loves spending time with her baby boy whenever she can.

So precious.

Freddie has so far proven himself to be a very mellow kid. While most toddlers would be screaming the house down if left in their crib, Freddie seems more than happy to sit and suck on his fingers. A habit which Darcy is trying to break him of.

I cannot express how wonderfully adorable Freddie really is.

Henry has also shown himself to be a natural parent and often takes the time to pass on his bookworm tendencies to his son by reading to him once he comes home from work.

Might this be it? Could this be the first hot meal Darcy cooks without burning it?

"Darcy sprinkled the cheese with bated breath. Marriage and motherhood were not easy, but even one of Freddie's nappies was less daunting than the task that lay ahead."

Victory! At level four cooking skill, Darcy has finally conquered the stove and prepared a hot meal minus the burnt edges and bitter taste.

Perhaps my theory holds more truth to it than previously thought.

That's it for now. I wish this update could have had more content but I've been quite caught up lately and so I've not had much time to sim.

Before you disappear, you may notice the unintentional colour scheme that seems to be appearing in my game. Um. Everyone, yes including Dickens the cat, is ginger. I'm not quite sure how this has happened but as a result I'm hoping to integrate some of your sims into my game once the family tree grows etc. So if you have a sim who you'd enjoy unleashing into the quaint island town of Eltham's Drift, leave a comment and/or link below and perhaps we can inject some diversity into the Dashwood's legacy! I've also put Darcy up for download in the Archive for anyone who might want a well-mannered elf girl.
