Who'll make his mark
The captain cried
To the devil drink a toast
We'll glut the hold
With cups of gold
And we'll feed the sea with ghosts
I see your hunger for a fortune
Could be better
Served beneath my flag
If you've the stomach
For a broadside
Come aboard my pretty boys
I will take you and make you
Everything you've ever dreamed.
Obscenely loud

Elle approaches Dean and looks down on him, standing behind the divan. ]
I already regret asking, but what the fuck is going on?
[ The missing finger goes yet unnotices and so far she has no reason to believe that there's something missing under that eyepatch. ]

It's Pirate Day, baby. What, they don't have fun where you're from?

[Taking off the ridiculous awesome hat, he lifts up the eyepatch to reveal a bandage over his right eye, gauzy and taped into place. Dean re-adjusts his patch and folds his hands on his stomach, giving Elle a pointed look.]
So what was that about gutting, sister?

For a moment. ]
Matching look? For me? You shouldn't have.
[ The music may cover it up, but those words attempted to be said in a lighter tone were stuck quite firmly in Elle's throat and proved surprisingly difficult to get out. ]

Aw, you know me. Most considerate guy on the block.
[He grins again, taking all of this in surprisingly good humor. Reaching for his flask again, he offers it to her.]
Grog?

Congratulations, Mister Winchester. You just had a glance at that grain. Its next appearance is expected in roughly 347 years. Until then, let us never speak of it again.
Elle shoots him a look that says might as well and plops down next to him on the divan, taking a big swig from the flask. ]
...So am I gonna have to stand that music until somebody offs you and your eye grows back?

[Dean smirks. He's not in the mood for anything else except maybe some Doobie Brothers, but nothing really suits his pirate theme. He could opt for the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, but after a while it all sounds the same to him.]
Y'know, pretty sure this is the first time we've met in person. Who knew stabbing could bring people together?
[He takes a swig from the flask himself, settling his feet on the coffee table in front of him.]

[ She doesn't mind. Not blasphemy-in-the-library-mind, though she doesn't see the appeal. All it does is distract, distract and blast over the sound of footsteps as somebody sneaking up to you, blade in hand...
But enough of that. ]
...Stabbing?
[ Elle was curious about the eye incident, but that topic is one area in which her disregard for other people's privacy doesn't apply. Though if Dean actually offers the information willingly... ]

Yep.
[He peels the gold leaf off of another piece of chocolate candy, popping it into his mouth and chewing it thoughtfully.]
Someone didn't think my eyes were pretty enough.

[ She motions for Dean to pass her the flask again. ]
Taught them some manners?
Reply
If they'd stayed conscious long enough, I would've. You pay 'em back in kind, too?
[Dean nods at Elle's eye patch, his voice taking the remarkable 'you don't hafta tell me if you don't wanna' tone.]
Reply
[ She doesn't believe in 'teaching some manners' meaning anything but murder which makes Dean's response strange, unless metaphorical. Interestingly metaphorical. ]
Paid him back alright. Wasn't too kind about it.
[ The story stays with Elle, but the very rough summary is acceptable. ]

So what's your universe like, anyway? Is it crap, or pretty good compared to- [Dean gesture-flails around them.] -All this?

Little short on demons though.
[ Unless you count the personal kind. ]
Reply
He feels like he's told someone else the exact same thing before.]
Demons ain't all they're cracked up to be. After a while they just get on your damn nerves.
