I wanted to link to this on Facebook, but didn't want to ruin anyone's day by inadvertently triggering them:
I know it's in the Mail, but I found
this interesting - not least because she, like me, went to St. Hilda's, and she feels her unhappiness there led her to withdraw and may have exacerbated her ED. Whilst I am fortunate enough not to suffer from an eating disorder, I was very unhappy there too, and it did feel more like a boarding school than university, with strict rules about guests and staying out overnight and keeping your room tidy, so that struck a chord. I wonder if the staff are less paternalistic (funny word to use when most were women, but I can't think of another word that conveys that meaning) now there are male students?
