So today is Lundi Gras (Fat Monday) and tomorrow is Mardi Gras which is the end of the gluttonous period and the start of some sacrificing.
Normally, I give up a few things and this year is pretty much the same. Funny thing is that I usually lose 10 lbs over the 6 weeks...
- Coffee (this is probably the hardest) - I will substitute with green and/or white tea if anything
- Bread - also a tough one
- Chocolate - I don't really each much of it, but if it is around, I do...that's the challenging part
No booze you say? Well, the reality is that I drink so little any more anyway - I think I can count on one hand the number of drinks I have had in the last 2 months. So, giving that up really wouldn't be much of a sacrifice.
I will also do the good catholic thing and avoid meat on Fridays.
Here's to sacrifice (and hopefully 10 lbs!).
Oh, BTW, there was a story on MSNBC this morning when I was at the gym that Hydroxycut causes liver problems (and I was just going to start a stack of that on Wednesday...)
