BONUS COUNTRY ALERT!!! Montenegro!

May 30, 2009 15:00

Well, while we were in the internet cafe on the first night in Belgrade, and after looking at what there was to do in the city, I asked Sean if he wanted to make a side trip instead of by train but by flight and head over to the Mediterranean coast to get away from some of the gloom in Serbia (as it was supposed to rain the whole time off and on.

So, yesterday morning when we woke up, we went to the internet cafe and got tickets to go to fly to Tivat in Montenegro!!! We are currently in the UNESCO world heritage site of Kotor (Котор). We flew in the morning, walked around the village and then had some lunch to avoid the rain before heading up to the top of one of the nearby mountains to the fortress... the views of the water and the bay and all that goodness was AWESOME!

We have a few more hours left and then we go back to Belgrade for the night before starting the trek back home via Paris tomorrow...

Yesterday was a day in Belgrade. We started the day walking down the pedestrian road and then heading to the under construction HUGE church of St Sava. After that, we head back toward the Belgrade fortress before grabbing a cab to Zemun for the afternoon. We decided to walk back along the waterfront (originally to see the contemporary art museum but it was closed for reconstruction).

Sean's feet were a mess (I was sore, but not blistered) so it was a relatively quiet but cute dinner at a place called "Supermarket" СУПЕМАРКЕТ

Anyhow, fun couple of days, but it is nearly time to go home and back to the grind!!! I haven't really checked work email once (so proud of myself)...
