Chris lets Wesker's body go after he drives him into the pillar. God damn, that felt good.
He steps back, holding a hand to his injured shoulder. he was actually surprised that hadn't knocked Wesker out. And when Wesker turns and faces him, that surge of adrenalin in Chris's body spikes. Wesker wasn't even human. In fact, Chris wasn't sure he could even kill Wesker. But he would damn well try.
And then, Wesker shoots forward like a freight train. Chris has just enough time to land a glancing right hook off of Wesker's chin, but it was too little too late.
Chris feels himself being hit in the solar plexus by Wesker's shoulder, and the sir shoots from his lungs as he is carried backwards. Finally, he impacts yet again with a different pillar. Dust and concrete chips fly from the column, and Chris nearly passes out from the pain and the velocity of the attack. The only thing keeping him awake and fighting is the knowledge that he has a teammate still in captivity depending on him.
And so, there he is. Pinned against the pillar in Wesker's grip, out of breath and dazed.
"You have no idea how much I hate you," Wesker spat as he wrapped his hand around Chris' throat. "But now you see the monster you have created. Because of you, I had to sell of human soul." He pushed his face close to Chris' and snarled.
"This is your doing."
Wesker pulled back and released Chris to allow him some air, but it was short lived. Not a minute after he let go, he raised his leg quickly and swung his heel towards Chris' stomach area. This was a move he had practiced before Spain; the axe kick known as Chikyo Chagi.
Chris grits his teeth as Wesker grips throat. His bluish grey eyes are blazing with intensity, sweat is beginning to run from his forehead, and he has cement dust all over him.
Finally, Wesker releases him, only to drop a heel into Chris's stomach. Chris gushes forth the air in his lungs he had just regained, dropping forward onto his knees. But he doesn't remain there.
His body is a blur of pain, but he knows that he's in for more if he stays on the ground. He wraps his arms around Wesker's legs, lifting him up as Chris stands. Once he is in the air, Chris spins and slams Wesker back against the pillar, reversing their position.
"You son of a bitch!", Chris shouts as he grabs Wesker by the front lapel of his suit. "This is your doing, not mine! You murdered my team mates, Wesker! And now you're some god damned freak!"
Chris pulls Wesker's face forwards to meet his gaze.
"And you know what's funny? No matter how superhuman you've become...you still can't beat me. You're pathetic."
Chris draws back his free hand, letting go of Wesker's collar as he launches the greatest hay-maker punch of his life at Wesker's jaw.
The bad thing was that Wesker probably wouldn't even feel it. Oh well, at least Chris had gotten his point across.
However, Wesker had felt and had taken the punch. Afterward, he slowly moved his jaw, as if setting it back into place. Once it was set, though, his throat conjured up a harsh, raspy laugh.
"As thick headed as usual, I see."
Bringing his arm back, he made of a fist of his right hand.
"You never see the overall picture, Chris."
Albert released the fist in the direction of Chris' sternum. He hoped that Chris would get the point if
Chris is too close to dodge the punch. Thankfully, he's also too close to take the full brunt of it, but that just means it fels like being hit by a bulldozer instead of a train.
Wesker's fist slams into his sternum, and Chris flies backwards. His back impacts with the floor of the mention and he actually slides a few feet before skidding to a stop.
After a few coughs, Chris pulls himself to his feet, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He's holding his chest with his off-hand. Clearly, that last punch from Wesker had been a doozy.
"Overall picture? Wesker...I don't need to see the overall picture to know that you're a maniac! It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You put enough pieces together, and the picture starts to become clear."
Chris wipes the blood from his mouth on the back of his glove and glares at Wesker.
"Or, ya know, you could just look at the box cover and realize that the picture is a giant pile of bullshit!"
Chris charges forward at Wesker, his right hand pulled back. Looks like he wants to slug him again.
He had had enough of Chris' babble for one evening. Removing the Killer 7 again, Albert trained it on his former companion as he charged towards him.
"Take another step and that will be the end for you, Christopher. I am sure you wouldn't want that, especially since Miss Chambers in secured upstairs."
Wesker hand held steady, despite the situation. He was hoping the firearm would stop Chris in his tracks; he had to keep the former S.T.A.R.S marksman intact, in the long run. Chris was no use to him dead.
Chris skids to a stop, his eyes widening. He knew there was no way his bulletproof vest would stop that Magnum. Assuming Wesker didn't just shoot him in the face.
"Coward!"
Chris's face is red, fuming. His left hand is holding his chest, the right hand balled into a fist still.
"Put the gun down, you spineless worm! You're so superior to me and all. What's the matter, Wesker? Afraid you're seeing what Hell is going to be like a little earlier than expected?"
His chest is heaving in pain, and he looks like he could pass out at any minute.
"Unfortunately, our little game cannot go on forever, and I would rather have you alive, for now. You are useless six feet under."
His licked his right canine.
"There are things worse than death, you see." He waltzed over to Chris, his gun still raised. "There are things far worse than death.." That soft hiss returned as pushed the barrel of the firearm against Redfield's sternum.
"Unless you really wish for me to split your sternum right now. Though, I would say that would be a waste. I would have to resort to Miss Chambers, and that, my former companion, would be quite a pity. It would only provide further evidence of your uselessness in protecting the people you care for."
Chris looks down at the Killer 7 against his chest, and swallows a lump in his throat. This certainly wasn't how he had envisioned his life ending. Not at all. But then, he supposed that people didn't get to choose when and where they died.
Finally, he looks up, meeting Wesker's eyes with his own. Red and blue. Black and white. Good and evil.
"You can do what you want with me. Just let the girl go."
"Always the one to risk life and limb; how pathetic. How utterly repulsive. And to think, you actually trained under me once."
Those viper slits widened slightly as Wesker pulled the magnum back only to ram the barrel against Chris' chest.
"I hope you enjoyed your life; this is where it all comes crashing down." Wesker turned to Krauser.
"Go ahead and let the girl go. However, drug her first and dump her in the train station in Atlanta." He returned his gaze to Chris.
"I'm a fair man." He smiled. "Jack; give her a small injection of the T-Virus before you let her go, and be sure to tie her hands behind her back. We will give her the anti virus in her pocket, and if she manages to get free, so can save herself. If not-"
He paused to slick back his hair.
"-then that is survival of the fittest being put into play."
Chris grunts when the barrel of the pistol hits his chest. That brings another fresh trickle of blood running from his mouth. Something was probably bleeding internally.
He listens to Wesker explain the situation to Jack Krauser, and grits his teeth in anger. He wanted so badly to kill Wesker right then. Just wrap his hands around the snake's neck and throttle him to death. But as it was, here was a chance to get Rebecca out of here relatively safely. She was resourceful, no doubt she'd wake up in time to administer the anti-virus.
There was no other choice. If Chris refused, Wesker would inject her with the T-Virus anyway, and most likely kill her.
"...fine....just...just let her go. I'll do what you want, Wesker."
He hangs his head. Defeated. This was the end of his life, then.
There's another loud "thud" from upstairs. However, this time a cry of victory doesn't accompany it. Instead, there's a very audible, "Ow! This really stinks!" It's followed by the sound of someone attempting to right a chair.
Yep, Beck tried so hard to untie herself that she lost her balance and fell over, chair and all. Right now she's trying to figure out how to get back upright without using her hands.
Rebecca's busy getting her hands loose when Krauser arrives. She squeaks in surprise before glaring at him. But the fact that she's lying sideways on the ground, tied to a chair, just makes her look silly.
"Wh-what orders?" Yep, she's nervous now. "A-and where's Chris? When he gets here, he'll make you sorry you messed with me. Just you wait, ugly!"

It's not going too well, as you can imagine.

"Nothing personal, Miss Chambers. Orders are orders."
He grabs her by the arm and lifts her upright.

One of her kicks comes dangerously close to Krauser's knee. But does Beck care? Heck no! Only one thing's on her mind right now:
"What did you do to Chris, you monster?! Where is he??"
