Yours Truly, Coca-Cola Company

I don't know how many of you have ever recieved a business letter from a company or corporate officer, or generally just anyone who works for a company. It's kind of creepy. The letters themselves aren't too exciting except for the Opening and Closing.

Dear Name
Yours Truly

It bothers me that I get letters at work with those phrases. No offense Mr/Ms Corporate grunt, but I am in no way dear to your heart and not in love with you. Yours Truly? Wow, I didn't know we had that kind of relationship... in fact, do I know you? I find this odd and creepy that most people writing business letters, still introduce and close with phrases that I would think are reserved for love letters or letters to family and friends.

Sincerely
Kind regards

These aren't bad. I use kind regards myself. They are informal and don't tend to profess love to the man you are trying to sell your Submetering contract to.

Do people pay attention to this stuff?
