I know many of you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser, and some of you might be using Firefox 4.0 beta (currently version 3 of that). I had some difficulties with several add-ons being disabled because they were reported as not being compatible with 4.0b1-3, but I found a
posting whose link hopefully won't break; it's on
TheJapanesePage.com, so if the link breaks, that's where you need to go.
Basically, what you need to do in order to use your old add-ons with 4.0b[1-3 so far] is the following:
Firefox Menu [the shiny new orange button on the top left] --> Customize [Anpassen] --> Add-ons --> Get Add-ons [Add-ons suchen] --> Install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter [no idea what it says in German, sorry - basically install the thing you're offered] --> restart --> read what the text says --> restart once more --> enjoy your old, familiar add-ons! =D
When browsing, pay attention to whether and if, how your old add-ons are working and report success/failure by clicking on the "Compatibility" button that is beneath every single add-on. It lets you choose between "This add-on still works" and "This add-on on longer works". Click what applies!
