...Yes, I wanted to go to bed earlier. Like, 30 minutes ago. But then I remembered I wanted to search Youtube for Kabuki and Nô stuff... and I came across something incredibly fascinating. Namely,
Bandô Tamasaburô.
Interview from "Written Faces": Look. At. His. Hands.
I can't remember seeing anyone talk with their hands quite like he does. His hands are the epitome of elegance. They "say" just as much as his words do. Watching him talk fascinated me more than anything I remember! Granted, Southern Europeans and Southern Americans also often express feelings with their hands, as I've heard, but Tamasaburô's hands and fingers are expressive on a completely different level.
Wow.
This is coming from someone who usually doesn't notice hands or fingers.
And Tamasaburô at the age of 6 or 7, dancing? I'm torn between "odivndsvgdgv CUTE" and "wow, just wow, this is so beautiful".
Also, his reaction to watching the short videoclip? Priceless.
Kabuki... I think I will like learning more about that.
