Post-Victoria Day Blues

As i sit here drinking my cup of tea (Earl Grey, with honey and lemon, if you're wondering), I muse about the long weekend, and its passing, and what that's going to mean in the near future.

The long weekend is over, and although I spent it in a slightly miserable state (working, up at Riding Mountain National Park, starting at 7:30 every morning and dealing with allergies whenever I wasn't working), I'm not particularly looking forward to the days ahead.Mostly because this week is going to be insane.

We started school back up today, and because of the band trip last week I am pretty behind - I've got a 4-page (single-spaced, 12 pt font, Times New Roman) essay to write for Biology (which is due Thursday), as well as a Biology test, a Math test and a Chemistry lab to make up, as well as a Math exam on Thursday. I have a band concert tomorrow night which effectively kills any time I might have for studying/working on my essay, and I don't have a spare tomorrow, meaning that I need to get all of my work done today. Which is patently impossible. And I've decided that I'm not even going to think about Grad for the next couple of weeks, as my life is hectic enough already. So, logically, I decided to post about my insane life here instead of working to fix it - what is wrong with me?

On the positive side, it's looking like I have the beginnings of a gaming group coming together - two of my good band friends have shown an interest in an RPG called Scion, for which I actually happen to own the sourcebook. I've volunteered to be the Storyteller (basically the DM), and am getting really excited about the possibility of running this game - it's based on the idea that all of the gods ever dreamt up exist, and some of them have had kids with mortals. These offspring are called Scions. Basically, the game revolved around the concept that the Gods and the Titans are now at war, and so more Scions have been 'activated', as it were. They've been banding together to fight the Titans on behalf of their divine parents, and on the way can get awesome powers (okay, more awesome powers, since you can start with pretty cool ones), legendary items, and even achieve godhood themselves! It's such a cool concept, and it relies on both the Storyteller and the players having a good grounding in mythology (something I'm passionate about), so YAY! Also, it means that I get to play lots of different characters, and act as a benevolent (or not... hehe) Fate for my friends' Scions. Kekekeke....

Off to write a four-page essay, wish me luck!
