The Children were wrapped
In their blankets with care
While outside the crickets
Sang in the still dark spring air
And the baskets set out
Awaiting the grace
Of a white happy rabbit
Wi’ a smile on his face.
Through meadow and glade
From field to field
He goes so that baskets
In the morning will yield
Candy and chocolate
In the likeness of he
Who gave gifts in the hope
Of making kids merry.
And when the day is over
The candy been consumed
The lamb and pork all eaten
And it becomes presumed
That children are abed
Tucked in to ward dusk’s fright
The Bunny leaves by way of darkness
Wishing a merry Easter to all
And all a good night.
