So Jimmy gets high tonight

I'm so happy to be home. I love it here.

After work today, I drove out to the lake house and laid in the sun for an hour and a half. I had a few dollars in my purse, I got two phone calls while laying in the sun, and I had the keys to my mom's car. What a perfect day. Tonight, to top the day off with a cherry, I have plans to hang out with my friends. It really makes me miss the summer between junior and senior year, as well as senior year. That was undoubtedly the best year of my life thus far.

I don't understand why everyone hates this place so much. There are so many things to do here, so many people to spend time with. There's GR, there's all the little shops downtown, there's the beach, there's going out to eat, there's shopping, there's summerfest, there's the fair, there's the coffee shop, there's making milkshake or going to Double A for ice cream... and there's friends.

I'm envious of all of you who sit around and complain about how you're here in Hastings. Yes, I chose to go to summer school - because I thought it would be best for me. I have to find something that makes me straddle down and get focused in school. But what will I have there? Class, work, and books. I'm going to be busy, which will make me happy, and I'm really going to appreciate the weekends, but I'll miss being home when all of my friends are.
