It's a funny old world

Some things:

1) I can only find one other person who lists "Thespiness" as one of their LJ interests - a guy from Cambridge who has recently played the part of Wilfred Shadbolt in "The Yeomen of the Guard". Coincidence? No, I maintain that every Oxford person is balanced by an equal and opposing Cambridge doppelganger - the two were created in potentia when the two worlds separated in the Great Rift, the event that brought about the creation of Cambridge. This explains why so many Oxford people fail to stay in contact after defecting to Cambridge - they have presumably popped out of existance having bumped into their anti-selves on the street. While this is by no means a new theory, my latest research does serve to highlight a number of important questions: (i) Are the two universities going to continue drifting apart forever, or is there to be a "Big Crunch" in the distant future?; (ii) Should the boat race be banned as a potential cause of a rift in the space-time continuum?; (iii) What is the true significance of the X5?

2) Returning from my break, I discovered an extremely large molecular model of ethanol leaning against the Glorious Blackwell's CD Information Desk. Since it nicely obscured me from the view of scary customers, I left it there while getting on with some CD orders. I only had ONE customer enquiry in total for the next ten minutes - somebody asking whether the intriguing foam model was to be a permanent fixture of modern art. It all just adds to the growing body of evidence that the world can be made more bearable by putting alcohol in front of it. After about twenty minutes, I left the desk for a few moments, and when I returned, the model had mysteriously vanished. I feel all alone now.
