I'm starting to think more about how much your living space influences your creative self. I'm not talking about roommates, job, etc. I mean how you arrange your bed, belongings, stereo, amp, paint set up, computer, desk, etc. I've gotten so lazy in the last year. There is no doubt that the absence of the internet in my life for awhile made me more productive last year, but there's also no question that there was a year when I had the internet and still played guitar for literally hours a day. That year I had no facebook and no text messaging. Maybe the ability to fall back on bullshit "socializing" is the real weakness holding me back. It's just so easy, so convenient, but not even remotely comfortable.

We, my livejournal peers, are, assuming we're all on the same page, vying for something better, something different than the environment we are living in (in terms of a large scale), but many of us also submit to convenient distraction. Not enough money? Not engough stimulation? Turn to the internet for all your needs!

Don't forget: the internet is a distraction from self.
