Instagram Facebook - Meta, the parent company of the social media platform, has announced the expansion of the integration of digital assets in Instagram to more than 100 countries

This Meta move could make non-interchangeable tokens (NFT) mainstream, as Instagram has more than two billion active users worldwide.

Reportedly, the expansion of integration concerns America, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa. To be able to showcase their digital collectibles, users need to connect their wallet to the Instagram social media platform.
"We currently support working with third-party wallets Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet," Meta reports

Meta has also added support for the Flow blockchain, developed by the creator of CryptoPunks, Dapper Labs. Thus, users have the opportunity to show their assets created on the basis of the Flow blockchain on Instagram. At the moment, Meta supports the Ethereum, Polygon and Flow networks.

Three months ago, Meta first started testing the integration of digital assets in Instagram. Users got the opportunity to show NFT as their profile picture, just like on Twitter.
