Solana is going to open a retail store
The store, decorated in the style of Solana, will open its doors in New York.
A new store called Solana Spaces is located in Hudson Yards and is being launched in collaboration with the Solana Foundation.
Cryptocurrency companies and Web3 brands are steadily penetrating popular culture, and celebrities such as Tom Brady, Steve Aoki, Snoop Dogg and Elon Musk are involved in this.
Brands such as the collection Ethereum NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club, has even expanded to "IRL" products and businesses, including a Bored Ape-style restaurant in Los Angeles. Solana, which recently announced plans to create and launch its own Android smartphone, also seems to see value in following the path of development.
"In [the store] you will learn how Solana works, what Web3 is. We will provide you with a wallet and your first NFTs, as well as guide you through your first online transactions," a Solana Spaces representative tweeted. He added that he designed this space as a "cultural center" and "embassy" of Solana.
In addition to NFT tutorials and the Phantom wallet, the space will also provide consumers with an interactive art installation and a variety of Solana-branded merchandise for sale, including a limited edition of Blanksoles sneakers.
Before its grand opening last weekend, Solana Spaces opened its doors to a select group of 30 visitors to explore the store.
Despite the fact that the store is not officially open yet, it has already received wide publicity on social networks, and passers-by pay attention and share photos of the store via Twitter. It even caught the attention of Genie founder and Uniswap vice president of product Scott Lewis.
Solana, whose native cryptocurrency SOL is currently the ninth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has become a popular alternative to the more expensive Ethereum blockchain over the past year to trade NFT - unique blockchain tokens that signify ownership - and use decentralized applications.
The network is still lagging behind Ethereum in all significant indicators, although unconventional traditional methods of information dissemination, such as a physical store, can help to narrow the gap a little more.
