36-year-old Welsh engineer James Howells wants to dig up the lost bitcoins with the help of two robot dogs, the cost of which is $ 150,000.
Nine years ago, Howells threw away a hard drive on which 8000 bitcoins were stored, whose price at the moment is $ 169 million. To return digital assets, James wants to construct robot dogs that will have to dig up and sort about 50 tons of garbage. The Briton needs two robots, so that one works while the battery of the second is charging.

The implementation of James' plan will require an investment of $ 6 million. According to his estimates, it will take from 18 to 36 months to dig out a hard drive. The engineer's project was agreed to be funded by venture capitalists Karl Wendeborn and Hanspeter Jaberg.
If the robot dogs dig out the hard drive, Howells may have problems with the device's performance due to possible damage to the hard drive. However, James prudently agreed with the employees of one of the companies that deals with data recovery from recording devices. He did not disclose the name of the company, but noted that its specialists extracted information from the black box of the crashed space shuttle.
