Buterin predicted the achievement of Ethereum throughput of 100,000 TPS
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin at the annual EthCC community conference in Paris announced the achievement of a network bandwidth of 100,000 TPS in the future.

Speaking at the event, Buterin spoke about the upcoming "merger" (The Merge), during which the blockchain will switch to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm, and presented long-term development prospects.
The Merge: What to expect from the largest Ethereum Update
Further updates involve the implementation of sharding and the expansion of the use of Rollups, which will increase the network bandwidth.
"By the end of this roadmap, Ethereum will become a much more scalable system and will be able to handle 100,000 TPS," Buterin said.
Among the most significant future changes , he called:
- in monetary policy - further reduction of the annual issue of ETH;
- in the security model - weak Subjectivity, data availability sampling (DAS), access to the history of L2 solutions, updated cryptography;
- in the process of enabling transactions - EIP-1559, account abstraction, separation of the offering/creator of the block (PBS).
According to Buterin, achieving these goals is difficult because of the complexity of the network and how quickly it changes.
Recall that in July, Ethereum developers tentatively scheduled the implementation of The Merge for September 19, 2022.
In May, team representatives predicted an update in August. Buterin also called this month the most likely time for the transition, but allowed the postponement of the event to September-October in case of "potential risks".
