About 4,500 people took part in the technological demonstration of the "first journey" of the Otherside Metaverse project associated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) of Yuga Labs.
The long-awaited "first journey" took place on July 16 and was open to the owners of the Otherdeed NFT land, known as Voyagers, who bought tokenized land plots in the Otherside virtual world. Apparently, the event was a resounding success, and many community members took to Twitter to express their enthusiasm for the event.
The first journey
The 4,500 Voyagers first joined the empty virtual lobby as avatars before they all followed the giant Bored Monkey through a colorful portal to the Other Side's Metaverse. As soon as the Voyagers arrived at a place called the Biogenic Swamp, they were directed to a centrally located stadium where they could test avatar dynamics such as dancing, running, jumping and emoticons.
From there, they were able to explore several other selected areas and interact with the environment in which there were giant creatures that walked and attacked the Voyagers if they got too close.
In the early stages of testing the project, which includes several "trips", Yuga Labs stated that only the owners of Otherdeed and third-party developers will be able to access Otherside. The team noted that these "Voyagers" will be able to leave feedback about the platform.
