The Polygon project was selected for the business accelerator program from Disney
As reported, the Walt Disney company chose Polygon to participate in its business accelerator program, and it became one of the 6 projects selected for the program
As part of the program, Disney will provide recommendations from its management team and offer a special mentor. Polygon Studios CEO Ryan Watt noted that Polygon was the only blockchain chosen to participate in the program.
Disney did not say why the choice fell on Polygon, but drew attention to its Web3 capabilities, as well as the ability to integrate cryptocurrency transactions into web applications.
In addition, two more blockchain companies were selected to participate in the program: the social media platform for NFT-video Flickplay and the online e-commerce platform Lockerverse, which patented trademarks linked to NFT.
Judging by the choice made, it can be assumed that Disney is clearly interested in the NFT sector. Since 2021, the company has released several NFT collections in collaboration with the Veve marketplace. Former Disney CEO Bob Iger believes that NFTs have enormous potential for the company due to large amounts of intellectual property.
Another 3 participants of the business accelerator program work in the field of metaverse technology: Red 6, Obsess and Inworld pay attention to augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
