Treasury Sends Joe Biden the Basis for International Work on Cryptocurrency

Jul 08, 2022 22:00

The Treasury has provided the White House with a framework for future international cooperation in the field of cryptocurrency.
The department responded on July 7 to the provisions of US President Joe Biden's March decree on digital assets, which called on agencies to create a series of reports.

Today's structure was a response to a request to create an international framework within 120 days, which "should reflect the ongoing leadership of the Minister of Finance and financial regulators in the relevant international financial standards bodies and should increase the involvement of the United States in digital asset issues in technical standards bodies and other international forums to promote the development of digital assets and CBDC technologies." in accordance with our values

The newsletter points to a number of international organizations, including the G7, G20, FSB, FATF, World Bank, IMF and OECD, as platforms for promoting the American approach to digital assets abroad. The Treasury has not made public the actual structure, and representatives will not provide it to the Block when applying. The Executive Order instructs the Treasury to prepare a follow-up report on the measures taken in accordance with the framework, which should be submitted in a year.

Treasury worked with the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Commerce, and the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
