The Lamborghini Squadra Corse GT Vincenzo Sospiri Racing racing team has announced that it will start using non-interchangeable tokens (NFTs) for certification and authentication of factory car parts as part of a pilot scheme of Go2NFT, which specializes in creating corporate NFTs for business.
The company said in a statement that the deployment could also be expanded to verify the authenticity of goods and other official products. In March, the company received a $5 million investment from the Skey Network blockchain ecosystem.
"We know that provenance, accountability and quality control are key issues for superbrands looking to protect their intellectual property, and we believe that NFT can help create more trust and transparency for brands and their fans," said Boris Eisymont, chief business officer of Go2NFT.
Lamborghini itself released its first NFT collection in January this year in collaboration with Swiss artist Fabian Ofner.
However, the most famous collection of NFT related to lambo probably belongs to the artist Shl0ms, who earlier this year blew up one of the Lamborghini cars in protest against the narrative of rapid enrichment with the help of cryptocurrency.
