Jul 05, 2022 10:21

Tencent has announced that it has started testing avatars of non-interchangeable tokens (NFT), profile images (PFP) and a "virtual room" music zone in its QQ Music application.
These NFT PFP avatars are two-dimensional cartoon characters based on the Tencent blockchain, Zhixin Chain.

QQ Music will also launch the "Music Zone" virtual room feature, where users can invite friends' avatars to visit the room and listen to music together.

Android phone users could already try the PFP NFT function and the virtual room from Monday, before the start of official sales starting on Wednesday morning.

The price of each PFP is set at 0.88 yuan (0.13 US dollars) and is limited to 40,000 versions.

In 2021, QQ Music has more than 275 million monthly active users and ranks second among all music apps in mainland China.
