With generous donations, the University of Cincinnati is going to launch programs focused on the study of digital assets.

Through several large donations, the University of Cincinnati (UC) launches several programs that focus on cryptocurrencies and new financial technologies.

A UC News article published a few days ago indicates that donations allow the university to create an educational program in conjunction with Carl Lindner College for students of the University of California. A laboratory center will also be opened, its opening will take place in early autumn of this year.

Lindner College will become a center for a cryptocurrency fund that will help students study blockchain technology and virtual assets. The report says that the crypto fund and the laboratory will provide students with "experience and knowledge vital for working in companies dealing with digital assets." The development is designed to complement the already existing Johnson University Investment Institute to provide hands-on training in stock valuation and portfolio management.

One of the university's sponsors noted that blockchain and the underlying application of cryptocurrencies are now at the forefront of business innovation and management. Therefore, it is so important that university students are aware of how blockchain technology works in the current conditions. The more practical experience students get, the better it is for them. Studying the theory does not give such an effect, only practice helps to understand how the blockchain works.

In turn, Debashis Pal, professor of economics at the David Sinton University of California, said: "In the LinkedIn report, blockchain is named the most popular complex skill. Students who work with a cryptocurrency fund will gain immediate and up-to-date knowledge about the fast-growing digital asset industry. Educational programs will make the University of Cincinnati a leader in this cutting-edge technology."“

Such a policy of the university management is quite understandable, since there is a significant shortage of blockchain specialists in the market. Companies post a lot of vacancies in this area, offering high salaries. Therefore, the faster students master the practice of using blockchain, the more competitive they will then be in the labor market. Similar programs are now being launched by other universities, attracting funds from private foundations.
