When did I become such a GIRL?

Nov 17, 2011 11:09

It's been decades, as usual. People say that some things get better with age, but apparently those "things" are limited to whisky, wine and sex; not the ability to post on one's livejournal. At least I'm not getting any better at updating. Maybe it's because I've been too busy watching zombie films, 9gagging, playing Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock, creating new worlds and recovering from a nasty cold... or maybe it's just because I'm kind of a lazy bastard.

Whatever the reason, I can proudly announce the start of the first roleplaying campaign of the Gamers' Guild. It's called "The Maker" - the name refers to the person who, back in the dawn of time, killed that pesky, good-for-nothing, vicious God and took His power to create for himself.
The new Maker now rules the world (which is, geographically, quite similar to this one) and everyone in it. To make sure that his law is upheld, he controls an army of "greycoats" or "greycloaks" who act as his espions and law enforcement officers.

I have a hunch that my wee roleplayers will end up in a conflict with the law. I, so to speak, smell it in the air...

On another note, I fell in love with the Disney film Tangled the other day. Although I like Disney films in general (Robin Hood, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are all awesome), they all tend to be based upon a sickly-sweet moral of sorts, which sometimes disgusts me. This film, however, effectively destroyed the moral "mother knows what's best for you", which is always a good thing. Besides, Maximus the horse is now a new favourite character of mine. Such devotion! Such talent! Such facial expressions! He reminded me strongly of my boyfriend. ^.^

What else is new? Well, in a short period of time I have managed to see two whole films starring Justin Timberlake, one starring Ashton Kutcher and one starring Josh Hartnett; something I never thought would happen. Add to that the fact that I have actually been spotted watching rom-coms, and you know there's something rotten in the state of Denmark.
(The film I saw the other day starring Robert Pattinson doesn't count, because it was Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire, and Harry Potter films are exemptions from the general unwritten rule that films starring Robert Pattinson are to be avoided).

Oh well. I shall conclude with... Star Trek. I finally got around to watching the new film and I really liked it. I think it had something to do with Spock. I'm a huge fan of Spock. I idolise Spock. And this... this Zachary Quinto, of whom I've never heard, made such a wonderful Spock that I felt like fiercely kissing him, which is not a feeling I normally associate with idolising Spock.

Spock.

Oh my.

films, gamers' guild, i'm such a girly girl sometimes, roleplaying, embarrassment
