This last weekend brought with it a trip to Öland, one of the bigger southern islands of Sweden. 'Twas a nice but somewhat COLD and rather WINDY and RAINY weekend. Luckily, Mum and I had brought two bottles of wine and some delicious fish, so we hardly suffered. I had also brought my essay, so I was much pleased with the weather.
During our stay, we visited some old castles and went for a long walk in the rain to see Mum's favourite site.
Bruddesta, Öland
We also visited a new acquaintance of mine; an older gentleman whom I had the pleasure to sit next to at a fancy dinner at my student nation the week before. He invited Mum and me to dinner at his place. A very kind man!
Today, I left Ljungby for a four-hour-long train journey back to Uppsala and my studies. Well, studies and studies: The following days offers:
1) Thursday: Cleaning day at the student nation, and a party afterwards.
2) Friday: Welcoming party for our friends from a student nation in Finland. I'll work in the bar.
3) Saturday to Sunday: SPRING BALL! The events of events. Fancy dinner, fancy dresses, fancy dancing all night long, a not-so-fancy breakfast directly after the dancing which ends in the morning at 4 o'clock, and then a fancy trip to a secret place, followed by lunch, and then finally a croquet contest. It's 24 hours of fun! I only hope I'll live through it.
Next week: Interviews, and essay writing. I'm almost finished with my forty pages!
