I bought a car!... only it's in California. We went to the dealership this morning to see what they had, and there were two cars available: fire-engine red and medium blue. The red was... really, really red. And I'm not the red car type. The blue would have been fine, except it had a black interior, and there was no way I was having that in the summer. Way too hot.

But the sales guy said they have a dark blue car with a tan interior, which is exactly what I was hoping for, on its way--it's in California and should be here no later than next Tuesday. So we came to a deal on that. It's kind of anticlimactic; we've spent all the money but have nothing to show for it.

OTOH, this gives me some extra time to clear out my Galant, which can't hurt. It's amazing how much crap piles up in 12 years.

Something the_haunt said reminded me: One of the more amusing things about car shopping was Infiniti's brochure. Not the content, but the fact that it has scratch-and-sniff strips with new car smell. I couldn't figure out at first where that smell was coming from, but, yep, it was the brochure. Kind of a cool touch, but it got annoying pretty quickly.

And that should be the end of my car shopping posts, except for some squeeing when I finally get the car. I'm just hoping my suspension can hold out one more week--it's sounding worse every day. Thunk, thunk, thunk.
