Peter Jackson films are damn difficult to watch anymore!! Okay, hi :)
So I'm sitting here watching King Kong, a movie that I deeply enjoyed in the theaters... enough to make it my favorite film in 2005. However, this is only the second time I've seen this movie. Not for lack of trying mind you, but because it's over 3 ruddy hours long. 3 hours!! Not one, not two, three!! And then add in some change to that. It's long.
This leads me to believe that Peter Jackson films are now difficult to sit down and enjoy on a spontaneous basis. You need to plan for a PJ film anymore, you need to dedicate an evening to the movie, you could engage in three separate hour long tests during the period. Then - christo - let's not consider LotR: Return of the King (Extended Edition) even without the annotated materials.
Four hours and twenty five fucking minutes. Now, I'm not one of those pussies when it comes to sleep, so let's assume that you have the ability to stay up 24 hours in a day. 4/24ths go down to 1/6th. This is a 6th of the day. I mean... whoa... dude. Then you remove 7-8 hours for sleep, that's like nearly half a day!!! Dude. But, at the same time I love this movie. So I'm going to watch it and enjoy it.
You know I still need to watch the extended edition of RotK so I can actually see what I'm bitching about.
