We were so busy at work today that we didn't end up doing my review. I thought that I was $20 short at the end of the day, but it turned out I somehow managed to drop a bill in the trash. I win? And tomorrow, I get free pizza for lunch. Maybe I won't slit my own throat just yet.
I am addicted to the US Open. When games are in progress, you can see the scores get updated in real time on their website, which comes in handy when, say, you watch part of a game on your break and then must go back to work. I got to see a bit of
blue_ant's young man, Ernests Gulbis, play as well as the Djokovic/Monaco match. (That's probably not the proper way to indicate who played whom, but it amuses me to do so.) Monaco, especially, was impressive - he was down two sets with a twisted ankle and somehow managed to come back and take the third set in a tiebreak. Of course, he got squished in the fourth, but it was still one set more than *I* certainly expected him to last. Also, we got to see Djokovic get his back worked on, and I contemplated the possibilities of working with tennis players if the whole Official LMT of the Men's Olympic Swim Team thing doesn't work out. :D
Watching real tennis while overdosing on Prince of Tennis does tend to make one expect pretty amazing things from the players. I may or may not have shouted "TWIST SERVE!" at the screen the other day. There may have been some "BURNING! GREAT-O!" happening as well. It's probably a good thing
kirbyisshibby has missed most of it; I would hate to make her think I'm really weird, heh. *g*
New icon, because it seems I am twelve.
