Most days, my mom's pretty cool. She tolerates the fact that her daughter is crazy and likes to play dress-up...frequently....and occasionally even takes pride in my work. Earlier, however, she crossed a line.
Me-blahblahblah(explaining my ideas for my new Dickens dress, which will double as a costume for Dickens on the Strand and a costume for the production of A Christmas Carol I'm currently rehearsing)
Mom-That sounds lovely, sweetie....but are you sure you want to go through all that work for this? I mean, couldn't you just throw something together out of that massive garb stash you have....
Me-*blank stare* Mom....1550s....1850s.....there's a three-hundred year difference! The entire silhouette of women's fashions changed *drastically*, just like it has in the *last* 300 years!!
Mom-...but do you really think anyone wold notice?
