The Arrival...
The wait is over and the baby is here. He arrived via standard service on Thursday the 9th at 21" long and NINE AND A HALF POUNDS. Go Svenja! Chase is happy and healthy (happy being a relative term to describe how he is when he is not gassy, hungry, or being changed) and here at home now. Svenja is also happy and healthy, but the stress of the delivery (she lost twice as much blood as is customary) and the size of the kid (you do the math there, sherlock) made for a sore and anemic wife. All is well, however, and she is now doing a fantastic job feeding the kid. I am off work until September 20th to help her and make jokes about things.
I will e-mail pics and all that later, but for now, I must go. I am EXHAUSTED because the kid apparently trained under Rumsfeld in Iraq and is a master of sleep deprivation.
