So. Ongoing ear trauma (infections, or what feel like infections, pain, etc) lead me to the doctor's office today. They did all the poking about in my ears and having me describe where the pain is (from my right ear, through the cheekbone, up and around the eye socket).
Consensus - it may not be a re-occurring infection. It may have to do with a nerve that wraps that exact same path - the evidence is supported by the fact that if I keep my ears warm, the ongoing persistant headache goes away. All the current hot/cold/hot/cold weather is just confusing the damned nerve so much that it doesn't know which way is up, and hence, head pain.
Some of it HAS been infection, though, and it seems to make it 100x worse when I wear in-ear earbud headphones. So today I went to Radio Shack on my lunch break to go see what kind of GOOD over ear headphones they had.
Turns out, they had a formerly $50 pair of really nice headphones on clearance sale, so I picked out a set of shiny black ones with cushy ear pads.
THEN, I went back to work, waited until people left, and re-acquainted myself with the vinyl cutter. Ta-da! My headphones are now made of AWESOME!
