This? This is what Aster and I can come up with in ninety minutes or less, while eating dinner and doing the dishes.

Ok, firstly, I'm going to have to out myself. This prompt on the Transformer anon kink meme is from me (and if you don't feel like following the link I'll sum it up as 'Inception' Cybertronian style, with Blaster and Soundwave and ( Read more... )

Oh, and also, I've discovered that I actually LIKE Transformers fic, which sort of astounds me, since I didn't think much of the movie. :P I'm not sure if I'm blaming you or

Heee! Oh lordy, recs? Well.... what's your preferred fic flavor? gen? slash? pairing? angst? fluff? rating? Give me a direction and I'm sure I can cough up a few recs. ^_^

Slash or gen, I don't have a pairing preference, but I really like plotty stuff with an overarching story (which is about the only common theme in my favorites, especially looking cross-fandom.) I do love a good cracky crossover, though. :D

Well, in addition to Keelywolfe...

Check my favorite stories on there, as a lot of the TF fic is on ff.net and I've started bookmarking them. Not all of them are finished stories, which is tragic, but I'd highly recommend all of them. In particular:

Trials of a Seeker - completed long plotty fic, human turned mech with Will Lennox in the staring role, a side of Lennox/Ironhide, and Lennox's wife being fierce and awesome.

Down a Notch or Eight - Optimus/Megatron, starts off dub-con, turns happy by the end, but not OOC.

Prisoner - Starscream in captivity (gen)

Tinman - long, mostly warm and fuzzy with a side of plot. Ironhide and the Lennox family.

Hate the Dark - Optimus/Starscream, one of the better uses of "trapped and having to work together" that I've seen ( ... )

Thank you thank you thank you! I'm a terrible wimp about browsing in new fandoms because while I will TRY to read most anything "I want plot!" is a hard sort of category to search for. :)

I usually totally read for plot - I tend to start browsing by length and barely look at anything under 10k words. On ff.net I lucked into a few good authors and I've been hopping around their favorite lists ever since in the hope that people who write good stuff will rec it too. ^_^

Yeah, the length thing looks like it will work better in this fandom than some others... (*coffHPcoff*)

OMG SHINY. THank you so much!

(Oh, and "Unfinished Epics"? I've been following "Blind Sight" since like 1997 and it's still unfinished. :P She last updated in April. :P (X-men fic. Very awesome.)

Halfway through Trials of a Seeker so far. FUN.

....Blind Sight is ringing a bell for me. Linkage? I think I might have read some of it at some point and it'd be nice to revisit. ^_^

Heee! I ended up re-reading some of that one last night after reccing it. If you look on my favorites list on ff.net, I'd also highly recommend "Property of..." (unfinished, but SO much fun) and "An Adjustment of Plans" and "First Do No Harm", both by L Mouse who wrote "Masks" - none of them are finished, but that's a fabulous author for plot and really solid prose.

I discovered those both today (I'm partway through Masks)- yay for plotty authors. (I also like anyone who writes House as an actual asshole rather than a Special Suffering Snowflake.)

"Blind Sight" is on Valerie's ff.net page - http://www.fanfiction.net/u/119104/Valerie_J - it's the sequel to "Thick as Thieves" which is also posted there. Fun X-verse fanfic which I can get all lit-crit-y about because well, it's just fun and interestingly layered like that- the first one isn't, so much, but the second one is neat.
