Yeah.
My macbook airport card has gone from rapidly gasping its last breath to curling up and dying. I've done all the appropriate dances and held my face just so and petted it and made sacrifices to the Great Mac Gods, but no luck. It insists that the household wireless network has no signal, or that it can't find it, or that it's misplaced the WEP key somewhere and won't accept me putting in a new one. (This is all LIES, as Aster can connect just fine and so can my iPad).
Soooo, next weekend I'll be hauling myself off to the nearest Mac store in the hopes that their techs can poke around its guts and maybe tell me something like "oh, your airport card connection is loose" (best case scenario) or maybe "oops, you need a new airport card" (eh, but okay) and hopefully NOT "oops, your macbook is heading towards terminal brain death" (nooooOOOooo!). I'm starting to seriously think about switching back to a desktop. I seem to have a short lifespan with laptops. Possibly I work them too hard or something. =P
In the meantime, if you see me about online in the evening, it's via the iPad. Thank goodness I splurged on that shiny little thing! Otherwise the internet withdrawal at home would be hitting something fierce. (as it is, this is an totally unnecessary complication during finals week in classes. You hear me, universe? TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.)
PS - if you have ever been on my Big Bang beta filter, there is an opt out for the next round of fic spam in my last post. ^_^
