The good - my academic adviser occasionally sends out messages to her students. So I occasionally get things with subject lines like "You did it again!" and bodies saying something to the effect of "wow, straight A's AGAIN! You're awesome!" Which is a nice acknowledgment/pat on the head. ^_^
The pet peeve - dear people. If you are calling to talk to Rob, and I tell you he isn't here right now, and I'm obviously NOT Rob, please don't just assume I magically know all of the details of his work if you were, previously, speaking exclusively to him via email. Also? Just because I'm the only female answering the phone down here does NOT mean I'm the secretary, I am not sitting at a desk with paper and pen in hand waiting with bated breath to take your message, you have interrupted me in the middle of running a job. RAR, stereotyping! v_v
