Danger, rant-y post!
so, I went to my friend's wedding on Friday, and because I've known him for quite a while and I wasn't crazy busy, I decided to do a girly thing: I got my nails done. I hadn't made an appointment because I suddenly found myself free and clear on the Friday afternoon, remembering I had the /whole/ weekend off, not just Saturday Sunday. So I shopped around on the net and calling places for nail prices. I found one that advertised nails at $35, and had a print out coupon, and it was close by. So I went after getting gas, oil change, etc. I get there, and the girl at the counter attempts to make me feel like crap because I didn't have an appointment! For SHAME! I said basically, "Do it if you can, if you can't, I'll go somewhere they will." Heaven FORBID I leave after I walked in! So the girl tells me she has very little time, but will do it. I was there for an hour and a half, and only in the last 5 minutes did anyone else arrive.
My nails weren't even well done, they were lumpy and quite a few had bubbles in the polish that made them sharp. I also had polish UNDER my nails which she didn't get out. THEN I am informed because she didn't use tips, but molded the nails herself with the gel, I have to pay $60! Annoyed I hadn't been told, but knowing Mike was probably getting worried, I paid and left. It was only after I left I saw how craptastic the nails were. Not only were they lumpy and gross, they looked like they ALREADY needed filling! Not only that, there were still traces of the black polish I'd had on earlier that week near the edges! I was pissed, but willing to live with it until today. I was at work, and then without lifting or straining the nails on a box at all, my thumb nail broke right off! I tried today to call and complain about the nails, but the owner answered and said, "We are not open, please come tomorrow." I told her I was calling to complain about the services I received, and she repeated, "Call or come tomorrow". WELL, I will, but I also am going to tell everyone I know to avoid Aaina Salon and Spa on Weber, 'cause it SUCKS ASS!
