Manchester United are Premier League Champions for a record-equalling 18th time...and that's a FACT!
Today the end of a journey that started seemingly a billion bazinga years ago has ended. I'm talking about Manchester United's journey to retain the Barclays Premier League Trophy! It all started with a 1-1home draw against Newcastle United back on August 17, 2008 and ended today May 16, 2009 in a 0-0 draw against Arsenal fittingly at our home and fortress, Old Trafford!
Like Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez back in his infamous rant in January all I want to show here are FACTS. So to begin, with this latest trophy Manchester United have equalled Liverpool's record of 18 English Championships, which Liverpool have not won in 19 years now, FACT. Sir Alex Ferguson's classic quote of "knocking Liverpool off their FUCKING perch. And you can print that" has more or less been accomplished and in an interview right after the Arsenal game he said that "we'll be back to do it next year" which would surpass Liverpool's number of league titles. Another FACT!
With this title Sir Alex Ferguson becomes the most successful manager in Scottish and English history with 31 major trophies, FACT!
When Sir Alex Ferguson took over United in November 1986 United only had 7 League titles. He has now won it 11 times as compared to Rafa Benitez who has yet to win one, FACT!
Liverpool's last major trophy was won 3 years ago...United's last trophy was won a little over an hour ago, FACT!
All in all MANCHESTER UNITED RULE! The scousers can suck it!!!
