I think it may be time to accept this fact, and plan accordingly. Hanging out with some people is better than not hanging out at all.

The days of the Party Where Everyone Is There is over.
Now it's the small gathering of people who happened to be free on a Friday, which in many ways is more conducive to actually catching up with those people,
but it's hard for us to think that when we still have sharp and clear memories of the "glories of our past".
I think the present is really damn cool to, we just have to work it different than we did in the past.

Which means we double book.
"On Saturday I've got GEEK THING followed by VEHICLE THING and then FRIEND is having a THING at their PLACE OF RESIDENCE. So I'll meet up with you at the VEHICLE THING and then we can see other friend at the PLACE OF RESIDENCE"
...and we should learn to juggle.
