Saw an apartment yesterday afternoon that I Did Not Like. More committed than had been before to building in which ideal apartment was available, and I hit a snag with some paperwork and someone else rented it first. Heard from leasing office that similar apartment is available first week of June, at a rent approx. $100 more than I can even possibly afford (having put the rent ceiling at about $50 more than I predict I can reasonably afford, which is already a solid $100 more than I can comfortably afford -- so when I say the rent is too high, I'm not joking; the ideal place was about 750 sq ft on the 9th floor, and the similar place is 850 sq ft on the 8th floor with a balcony, so I'm holding out for something smaller).
Woke up this morning to two repeats of a dream in which I was confused because I was talking to someone about something in a room with two clocks, and I carefully turned off the alarms on both of them (note: these were analog wall clocks, and did not have alarms), yet something was making a godawful noise. It was whole minutes before I realized it was -- right -- my alarm clock, and twice in a row I turned it off, went back to sleep, and had the same dream again nine minutes later. Was a little late getting out of the house this morning.
Stopped in the Target to get soda for my office, and found that there are now strawberry milkshake Oreos. How was I supposed to resist?
