leave time and travel:
I have just sent a couple of boss-types an e-mail asking for the following days off --
- February 8 OR 22 (Friday) - visiting NoRMaN #3 (Minneapolis)
- February 28-29 (Thursday-Friday) - Kayser (Utica)
- March 14 (Friday) - Women's Challenge (here) - and in fact, I get March 17 and 18 off from work, so if I just took the 18th on the 14th and went to work on the 18th, I wouldn't have to spend a vacation day at all.
- April 7-11 (a full week) - World Championships in Grand Forks, ND, where I'd be an official.
- April 4 (and possibly 3) - Bonsqueal (Plainfield) - only if Grand Forks is a no go, i.e. if the gig falls through or it's not okay to take a whole week away at that time or I can't afford it.
- March 28 and possibly 27 - Cherry Blossom (here) - so the same part-day possibilities exist as for the Challenge, although I don't have the holidays in the following week to play with :-)
Also going for sure to TropiCurl (Pittsburgh), but that's the weekend of July 4, and the 4th is a Friday, and our first draw should be on Friday at a time sufficient that we can just leave after work on Thursday, therefore, no vacation time necessary. (Whew!)
other curling-related fun:
My pants are really too big. Again. I'm going to give some serious thought, at tonight's make-up game, to the question of whether I can finish the season in these too-big pants or whether I need to get new pants now. Dangit.
other news:
I put last night's Torchwood on the iPod this morning so I can watch it when I go to get my allergy shot this afternoon. Oh, the cleverness of me! This afternoon's allergy shot will be a little fun, after the excitement of last week--
interrupted by lots of scheduling fun, some of which was that in fact I have no allergy shot this afternoon. Ah well. I shall watch the episode between work and curling. :-)
