Following the power failure were several more days of really shocking heat. A lot of the time I couldn't bring myself to go outside. Then I went to the usual summer bonspiel with the usual team; this year we won four games and lost two, for a final record of runner-up in the E event, and a total of one time in six years that we haven't played on Sunday and come home with a shiny pin of some sort. We do all right. :-)
When I got home late Sunday, I found that in my absence Gentleman Caller had been and left me a sunflower. Aww. It is presently hanging upside down from the ceiling fan in my living room so that it can dry out without drooping, at which point I will put it in a vase with some glass pebbles and keep it for keeps. ♥
And then this morning he locked the front door in such a way that, not having a key to his house, I couldn't get out. :-P (I was leaving a little later than he had to because I was headed to the orthodontist rather than to work.) Auto-pilot is a funny thing. Fortunately, he answered when I called his cell and directed me to another door whose bolt is on a bolt, rather than needing to be unlocked with a key from the inside. So I was not trapped for long.
In other news, I have had my first paycheck since the end of the year in which I had FSA contributions withheld, and it's like having a little raise. Hurrah.
