bradygirl_12 spring rain challenge Tim frowned as the rain spattered against the windows. Bruce was at Wayne Enterprises doing meetings that day, Alfred was out doing errands, and Dick was away on a mission with the older Titans. Leaving Tim alone for the afternoon. He had planned on taking a jog around the manor's grounds but the sudden spring storm had kept him inside for the day. With a sigh Tim pushed away from the window and walked restlessly from room to room until he ended up in Dick's room. The truth was he always felt restlessly when Dick was away.
The wind whipped the limbs of a tree against the window pane and Tim felt a chill in the room. He walked over and opened Dick's closet. His hands wandered over the suit jackets and shirts, feeling the crisp cottons and the soft silks, until he came to a gray cardigan sweater that was tucked in the back of the closet. Tim smiled as he pulled it out and put it on. It was at least a size and half too big for him, the shoulders were baggy, the arms too long, but it smelled like Dick. The strange mixture of kevlar, coffee, and Dick's cologne surrounded Tim as he buried his nose in the collar. A smile slowly spread across his face as he felt the feeling of restlessness and the chill went away. if Tim closed his eyes, he could almost imagine Dick standing behind him wrapping his arms around him
The sweater had been a gag gift from Wally on Dick's last birthday, the theme was 'You're not forty yet, but you're a year closer'. The thing was Dick actually liked it, putting it on at nights after coming home from patrol or just wearing it on days he stayed at home. Tim had laughed the first time he saw Dick in it and had threatened to take pictures and send them to Roy and Babs. Though one day when Dick had left for a mission by himself, Tim needed a reminder of his lover, and the temptation of wrapping up in the sweater and to have a small bit of Dick had been too great for Tim. Now it had become habit for Tim to put it on when he missed his acrobat.
So wrapped up in Dick's cardigan, Tim walked back to his room. He picked up his cope of The Sign of Four and sat on the window seat, ready for an afternoon of reading while listening to the rain.. A piece of paper fell from a pocket of the cardigan, on to the floor. He bent down and picked it up and unfolded it. In Dick's neat print was written 'I love you.'
Tim smiled as he wrapped the cardigan tighter around himself and tucked the note in his book.
