Kyle finished drying the last of the dishes and did a quick wipe down of the counter, when the sound of Hal's laughter drew his attention. With a final glance at the kitchen, Kyle wandered out into the living room to see what his lover was up to.
Hal was sitting at Kyle's computer desk doubled over in laughter, face flushed red, tears running down his face.
“Do I even want to know?” Kyle asked hesitantly Guy had gotten Hal hooked on the LOL cat site and Hal was able to spend hours looking at the site.
Hal sat back far enough to reveal the screen, which did not have a humorous picture of a cat on it, but rather it was someone's blog. Or more specifically it was a community site. Kyle started getting a sinking feeling as he quickly read what was on the screen. “You . . . you read fanfiction?”
Hal shook his head as he wiped away his tears. “I don't,” he choked out through his laughter. “But apparently you do. I found it in your bookmarks.”
Kyle could feel his own face turn red though not from laughter. “You looked through my bookmarks?”
Hal shrugged as he managed to get in control of his laughter. “I was bored waiting on you to finish the dishes and I wanted to look at something new. I had no idea this stuff even existed. Fanfiction huh? You do know this is about us right? This whole site is stories about super heroes. Nightwing alone has two thousand entries.” Hal jabs a finger at the screen. “This story is about two Green Lanterns who fall in love!”
Kyle was fairly certain his face was beet red as he mumbled, “Wally told me about it. I just bookmarked it to read later.”
“It says you're a member of the community,” Hal said as he jabbed his finger at the screen again.
Kyle said nothing as he was pretty sure his face was the color of Wally's uniform.
The sight of his boyfriend's blush only made Hal start chuckling again. “Have you read this story yet? It really is about us - you and me - listen,
The green construct elevator came crashing down, pinning the villain underneath. The doors opened with a ping and Earth's greatest Green Lantern stepped out, “Fourth floor, women's shoes, handbags, and ladies lingerie. Everyone out!”
He quickly made his way to his ebony haired lover's side and freed him from his bounds. “It's okay,” he whispered lovingly, “I have you.”
Hal doubled over in laughter once again as Kyle crossed his arms and frowned at Hal. “How do you know that they weren't writing about Alan?”
Hal rolled his eyes as he motioned toward the screen, “It has to be us. They got our chemistry down pat. Do you think we're being too obvious? That people know that we're dating? Nah, can't be. I've got to tell Guy about this site.”
“NO! You can't tell Guy! If Guy finds out about this site and that you got it from me, I'll never hear the end of it.” Kyle pleaded as he gripped Hal's shoulder.
“And what do I get for not telling?” Hal asked as he cocked an eyebrow and licked his lips.
“Anything.” Kyle said desperately.
“Anything?”
“Yes.”
Suddenly Kyle found himself pinned against the nearest wall, his head held between Hal's hands, “Earth's greatest Green Lantern made his way to his ebony haired lover,” Hal purred in Kyle's ear. “It's okay, I have you.”
