Remy/Tim X-Men in Gotham

“Xavier,” Batman said as he slipped into the study. “We need to talk.”

Professor Xavier looked up from the book he was reading and regarded the masked vigilante with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. The two had not spoken much to each other since he had moved his school to Gotham and for him to come dress as the Batman to talk to him did not seen like an encouraging conversation. “Mr. Wayne . . this is a surprise. What is it we need to discuss?”

“When you came to my city you said there would be no interference from your students,” Batman growled as he stepped further into the room.

“I don't believe any of my students have.”

Batman's lips formed a thin line, “Then why was Remy LeBeau hanging around downtown Gotham last night around one am. Don't you're students have a curfew?”

“I was not aware Remy had sneaked out, but as he didn't get involved with anything I don't see any great harm.” Xavier reasoned.

“He was with Robin,” Batman grounded out. “Your students are not suppose to interfere with my business.”

“And that includes making friends?” Xavier asked, fighting back the irritation he was starting to feel about this visit.

“What Robin does is very dangerous and distractions will get him hurt or worse killed. LeBeau is a distraction . . . and we both know LeBeau has more than friendship on his mind.” Batman snapped.

Xavier put aside the book he was reading and looked at Batman. “And you opposes that?”

Batman wrapped his cape around himself, actually stepping back, “My concern is for Robin and him alone. I know about your Gambit. We have enough thieves in Gotham.”

“Some of my students have complicated backgrounds, but I will not allow anyone to judge them for those pasts,” Xavier said coldly.

Outside in the garden Tim listened to Batman and Xavier's conversation by way of a bug he planted in the study the last time he had stopped by to say hello to Professor Xavier.

“Dey still at it Petit?” Remy asked from the bench he was sprawled on.

“Yeah they are,” Tim said as he turned off his ear piece and joined Remy on the bench, which Remy pulled him onto his lap with a surprised squawk from Tim.

“Da Professor's a good man. He'll get Batman ta back off,” Remy said as he nuzzled Tim's cheek.

“Batman can try the patience of a saint, I'm surprised Professor Xavier hasn't decided it would be easier to just mind wipe him.” said Tim. “Though I don't think he's too happy about you sneaking out so much.”

“Dis leopard isn't gonna change his spots any time soon. Da Prof knows that,” Remy said with a smirk.

“No, I doubt you'll ever do that,” Tim smiled softly.

“Though . . ,” Remy began with a glint in his eye. “Ah might consider a cowl if ya ask nicely.”

Dick/Roy/Tim Young Justice cartoon

Tim peered in the window and watched as Roy tried to entice his baby girl into eating more.. He sighed and leaned back in his chair as the little girl covered her mouth with her hands. Tim couldn't help but chuckling at the sight.

He didn't think he had made that much noise, but it was enough for Roy to whirl around with a mini crossbow in hand. “Who's there?!”

“It's okay,” Tim called out. “It's just me Robin.”

Roy didn't lower the crossbow. “And what brings you here little bird?”

“Uh Black Canary . . . uh she sent me with a . . a care package? She was going to bring it herself, but Wonder Woman call her for help with a case.” Tim said holding up the parcel he was given.

“Uh who would have thought,” said Roy, “Come on in,” he said as he lowered his crossbow.

Tim crawled through the open window, handing Roy the package. Lian look at their guest with curiosity, her little hands reaching out for Tim's cape. He smiled softly at her and held out his hand. Little fingers curled around his and she made soft gurgling cooing noises.

“Hey can anyone crash, or do I need to be Canary's messenger bird?” Dick called out before Roy could shut the window.

Roy rolled his eyes as he stood back and let Dick, “And why are you here?”

Dick had a bag slung over his shoulder, he dug in and pulled out a pink teddy bear. “Well I needed to drop this off,”

“'Why?”

“Why? Because one of the people I care just was blessed with a beautiful little girl. I think that's cause to celebrate.” Dick said.

Roy snorted and eyed Tim, “And what bout you little bird? Don't tell me Dinah couldn't have waited to send her package.”

“I . . I might have volunteered to bring it? Tim said softly, a slight blush coloring his cheeks. “I had heard Dick was coming here and I thought . . .”

Roy grinned and picked up the package Tim brought. “Well then lets see what Dinah sent us. Last time it was tapes of My Little Pony, hot chocolate, and popcorn. Lets see what she sent this time.”

Hal/Kyle Comfort Specter!Hal

The specter Hal Jordan hovered in the shadows of the studio apartment. His eyes was on the unhappy young man who stood in front of an easel trying to paint. Kyle Rayner's clothes were stained with paint, his shoulders tense and tight. Dark circles were under his eyes as he peered at the canvas disgust. “This looks like crap.” Kyle muttered.

“Well getting some sleep might help,” Hal responded even though he knew the young man would never hear him.

Kyle's only response was to take the half painted canvas off the easel and put a fresh one up and start again. Hal sighed as he drifted closer, his hand ghosting over Kyle's shoulder, he was reluctant not wanting to once again see his hand pass through Kyle without him even knowing.

“I'm sorry Kyle,” Hal whispered. “I'm sorry I left you alone. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I loved you the last time we were together. I'm sorry you're going through this alone. . . . Though I am here - sort of.” Hal said.

He watched silently as Kyle painted. Slowly the picture formed of beach, waves rolling up to the shore and sea gulls were painted soaring in the sky. “Our beach,” Hal said with a smile. “Man I miss going there with you. Remember how I'd always try and show off for you surfing. I was pretty lousy, but you always said I was great. Do you remember?”

Hal took a chance and wrapped his arms around Kyle's waist. Instead slipping though him like always, he felt the soft cotton of Kyle's shirt, the muscles of his stomach, and the coolness of the sweat on the back of his neck. He could feel Kyle.

He could feel Kyle.

He tightened his hold around the painter, burying his face in Kyle's short black hair and muttered his name over and over again.

“Hal?”

Hal grinned as he kissed his lover behind his ear, “I'm here. I'll always be here even if you don't know it. Always”

Damian/Tim High School

“Drake!”

Tim looked over his shoulder and sighed a little as he saw Damian Wayne walk up to him. The 'little Prince', as he was called, swaggered up looking down his nose at Tim (which was impressive considering Tim was taller than he was) before saying, “I was told I should congratulate you on how well you did in the debate yesterday.”

“You were . . told to congratulate me?” Tim repeated, not knowing weather or not to feel insulted or amused or maybe both.

“Yes, It's a sign of a good leader to commend their underlings when they do an adequate job,” Damian sniffed.

“Well thanks,” Tim said. He still wasn't sure how a freshman got to be captain of the debate squad, it probably had something to do Bruce Wayne being his father, though of course Damian did have a rather commanding presence about him and had tendency to become the center of any room he was in by sheer force of will. Perhaps it a mixture of the two?

“You're very welcome, though there are several things that you could improve on,” Damian said. “You started off very timidly, you shuffled your notes too much, you were very pitchy when you got excited and making a point.”

“O . . kay,” Tim said wondering exactly where the compliment went to. “I'll keep that in mind.”

“I do believe you have the tools to become better, all you need is the proper guidance,” Damian said, a cautious look on his face.

Tim blinked and shot Damian a side long look. “What?”

“I would be willing to help you,” Damian said a tone of stiffness coloring his voice. The usual “lordly” look was mixed with uncertainty that surprised Tim. “We can meet in the library.”

Tim raised an eyebrow and was surprised when he said yes. Damian's full smugness returned as he nodded and walked away. That was rather bold, Tim thought. 'Little Prince' might be a nickname given to Damian due to his rather superior attitude toward almost everyone except for his older brother Dick, but perhaps - perhaps there was more to Damian than he thought.
