A/N: For clarification this isn't set in the new canon, due to elements that will defer later on. Set in some nether verse where I draw from several things I like.. Like the idea of Roy, Jason and Kory going global crime fighting and having their base on a tropical island.
part 1 is here The sun beat was warm and waves gently rolled up on the beach and occasionally a seagull would fly over head. Jason leaned back in his chair on the deck of the beach house looking through the files of potential targets for the take down. He reached out for his drink and made a face, “Harper! Too much rum!”
Roy yelled something from the kitchen and Jason grumbled something unintelligent at Roy's shouts and took another sip making a face. He had just grabbed the file of a dictator of some island nation that would benefit from a visit from him, Roy and Kory when his cell phone blared into life. He absently picked it up and hit answer, “ Todd here.”
“Jason. I need you to get back to Gotham as soon as possible,” Dick's voice came over the cell sounding terse and clipped.
“Oh Gee Dickie I would love to drop everything and coming running on just your say so, but ya know I actually have life,” Jason snarked ready to hit the stop button.
“Little Wing,” Dick softened his voice, letting tension and worry seep in, “Tim's missing.”
Jason froze, throwing the files aside, “Wandered off with Kon and Bart?”
“No. He was home. We think he was taken,” Dick answered.
“Think?”
“It's . . .confusing. We're going over the footage now,” Dick said. “Jason . .”
“I'll be there in a day,” Jason said as he headed up to the house.
“Good, and Jason bring Roy will you?” Dick said trying to sound nonchalant.
“Why? This is a family matter.”
“Just . . just because.”
Jason snorted, “Fine whatever I'll grab bow boy.”
He ended the phone call and made his way up to his beach house and banged through the door to the kitchen, “Harper, grab your gear we're heading out for Gotham.”
“Gotham? What's going down?” Roy asked.
“Not sure, just grab your gear. We're leaving in an hour,” Jason said as he made his way to his room. He grabbed the pre-packed bag in his closet and started going through it to make sure he had everything and grabbing some additional guns.
Jason would be the first to admit his relationship with his brothers was pretty lousy at the best of times. Half the time he wanted to shoot at least one of them for something. (Nothing lethal, a shoulder shot, a shot to the thigh, something along those lines.) But they were family - they were his family - and no matter what he would always have his brothers' back.

“So what's going on? What happened to Tim?” Twenty-four hours later had found Jason and Roy walking into the cave to where Dick and Damian sitting at the computer. They were staring intently at the monitors.
Dick restarted the video, “This is from Tim's room from four days ago.”
“Four days ago?” Roy asked. “You waited three days to tell us Tim was missing?”
Dick gave Roy a look before turning back, “It's different . . this is different. He just disappeared and we don't know how.”
They watched as the tape played. Tim tossed and turned in his sleep and then got up to look out the window and then seemed to start talking to himself. “Who's he talking to?” Jason asked.
“We don't know,” Damian said. “It's obvious there's someone with Drake but the sensors can't pick them up.”
“Cloaking device?”
Dick shook his head, “If it is it's more advanced than anything we've ever seen. That's including alien tech. Bruce made certain the sensors would at least register if someone was cloaked. There's nothing here, for all intense and purpose Tim is alone.”
“So what's going on?” Jason asked, not liking where this was headed.
Dick's face mirrored Jason's, “Well when we rule out tech that just leaves . . .”
“Magic,” Damian finished.
“Damn. You sure?”
Dick just nodded toward the monitor. Jason raised an eyebrow as he paid attention to Tim's one sided conversation “Roy, his name is Roy . . . He won't come for me, h e doesn't even know I exist.” Jason turn to Roy a question on his lips when Dick lean forward and softly said, “There.”
As Jason looked again Tim's clothes seemed to change from his sleeping clothes to some sort of medieval costume complete with a crown and then a moment later he just disappeared from the room. “Tim!” Jason shouted as if his shout would bring back his brother.
“You see why it was easy to understand why magic came into play.” Dick said softly.
“So what are we doing about it?”
“I called in some help,”
A smirk formed on Jason's lips, “Zatanna?” he asked in an almost hopeful tone.
“Close,” Dick said as he seemed to look over Jason's shoulder at someone.
“My cousin is busy at the moment,” a voice said. Jason looked behind him and saw Zachery Zatara walking up to join the group.
Damian swiveled his chair and looked at Zachery with disdain, which the young magician returned, “I'm sure it's not to late to call Blood. We do want someone who actually knows what they're doing.”
“If you think you have a way of finding Tim without my help I can always take my leave,” Zachery said with an almost bored tone.
Dick threw Damian a look as he hurried over to Zachery. “Zach thank you for coming. I - we appreciate your help.”
“Of course Dick, Tim is my friend, I'm more than happy to help,” Zachery said in a much more geniality tone. “If I could go to his room I can start the search.”
“This way,”' Dick said as he lead Zachery up the stairs followed by Roy with Damian and Jason bringing up the rear.
When they got to Tim's room Zachery looked around the room, a worried frown on his face. “I can still feel it. The dark energies are all over the place.”
“So can you find him?” Dick asked “Can you find out what happened?”
“Yes” Zachery said “It'll be easy with all the energy in here.” Zachery stood in the middle of the room and raised his hands, “Enog sah Ekard Yhtomit erehw laever!”
A shadowy image of Tim laid on his bed tossing and turning before giving up on sleeping and like before he got up to stand by the window. But now . . . something was off. Did the shadows just grow darker, more solid? They seemed to twist and turn and grow and solidified into the shape of a cloaked woman.
Maleficent.
The name seemed to send chills down everyone's spine. Damian pulled out a knife and held it at the ready. “Don't be ridiculous,” Zachery said. “It's only a shadow of what's happened. She's not really there.” his voice shook a little betraying his own nervousness.
They watched in tense silence as Tim and Maleficent talk. Dick looked over at Roy when Maleficent described her need for a selfless heart and his hero. He could see Roy's hands tighten on his bow and he took a step forward when Maleficent lead the way to the wall and opened the doorway.
“A portal.” Zachery said walking behind Roy as they both stood before the wall. “She opened a portal and took Tim away”
Roy reached out and pressed his hand against the wall. “Tim,” he whispered.
“Who is she?” Dick asked.
“I've never heard of her before,” Zachery admitted. “but she's powerful. Even in the shadows she left I could feel her energy, but she has her limits, she needs Tim to return from where she came from.”
“Wrong,” Damian said, “She's chosen Drake and Harper. She needs them both.”
“True,”Zachery mused, “I'll have to consult Zatanna's books. I'll contact you when I find something. Won emoh ginog m”I”
In a blink Zachery was gone and the four young heroes were alone.
“Well if this isn't an interesting turn of events,” Damian said as three Robins, past and present, looked at Roy.
“Yeah,” Jason said as he crossed his arms, “You have something to share with the rest of the class?”
Roy blinked an almost looked surprised to find the rest still in the room. “Don't know what you're talking about Jaybird.”
“Don't try to avoid this Harper, what's going on between you and Tim?”
“Nothing. There's nothing between us,” Roy said turning around
“Tim seemed to think so,” Jason growled.
“No he didn't. He said I wouldn't come for him. And in case you missed it, for the past seven months I've been with you and Kory globe trotting everywhere. Hard to have anything with someone when you never see them.” Roy said
“But there's . . .” Jason tried.
“Jason take Damian downstairs, see if there's anything popping up. There's got to be something we can do on our side until we hear from Zach,” Dick interrupted.
“I don't take orders from you Dickie bird,” Jason snapped.
“I will not be dismissed,” Damian said in outrage.
“Do it anyway,” Dick said, an edge in his voice. For a moment the two looked like they were going to argue more before they left leaving the two friends alone.
“I didn't know,” Roy said softly. “I didn't know he had feelings for me Dick. I swear it.”
“I know you didn't,” Dick said. “But she apparently did and now she has him. We got to get him back.” Dick said. “I better get downstairs before Jason and Damian start fighting,” he said, leaving Roy alone.
Roy watched Dick leave and looked back to the wall to ensure that it was still solid. He slowly walked around the room, absently running his fingers over books sitting on his desk, a watch on the dresser, and picture frame. He picked up the frame, it was a picture of all four of the boys together. They were dressed in jeans and T-shirts. Probably some rare family get together, Alfred probably took it. Roy traced Tim's face, “Why didn't you think I'd come for you?”
