Silent tears rolled down Tim's cheeks as he watched Titans Tower burn down. His grief had taken any remaining fight out of him. There was no struggle against the bindings that secured his arms painfully behind his back and was somewhat grateful that he had been pushed to his knees as he doubted he'd be able to stand.
The footsteps of Ra's al Ghul's men barely registered as they came up and knelled before the the Demon's Head. “Master, so far there is no sign of any survivors. The guards reports that none have tried to escape the building.”
“I doubt any would survive, but if the miraculous did occur the assassins would finish them. Leave the guards at their posts till the fire burns itself out.” Ra's ordered. A rare smile crossed Ra's face as he walked over to Tim. “The hubris of youth,” he said softly as he ran his fingers through Tim's hair. “How did you think this would turn out Timothy? Did you really delude yourself into believing I would never find out?”
Tim flinched away from Ra's touch as far as he could only to have Ra's grasp him by the chin and force him to meet his gaze. “What fanciful fairy tale did you let yourself believe?” he asked as he wiped away Tim's tears. “That you and your chosen love would stand together against me and I would just fade away?”
Ra's chuckled as he flung his arm out, “See the results? He is dead now! All because you refused to accept your place at my side. You let him woo you, take you to bed, fooled yourself into believing that you were both safe. To only not just lose him but others that you cherished.”
He slid his fingers through Tim's hair again, almost taking pleasure in Tim's cringe. “You are mine my songbird. Why do you fight it so? I'll make you a prince, give you anything your heart could crave and only ask for one thing in return.”
“I'll never love you.” Tim said brokenly.
“Perhaps not,” Ra's mused, “But I promise you will never love anyone else either.”
