Of Mistletoe and Snow Globes part 1 Of Mistletoe and Snow Globes part 2 Tim stepped out of the limo to the sound of hundreds camera flashes going off. He paused momentarily smoothing out the jacket to his tux before heading into Wayne Enterprises. An elevator ride up to the ballroom and Tim walked into a winter wonderland. Silver and gold bedecked everything A large Christmas tree stood in the middle of the dance floor, couples twirling around it as the band played.
Before he could even take two steps into the room, Tim felt a hand on his wrist tugging him to the side. Then he was in Roy's arms, the older man running his fingers through his hair. “I knew you'd end up being late if we'd let you come on your own.”
“I am not late,” Tim smiled. “In fact I'm thirty seconds earlier than planned.”
“Oooh a whole thirty seconds. Must be a record,” Roy teased fondly. Tim snorted and shook his head at him. Roy chuckled softly as he placed a red rose in Tim's lapel hole.
“A red rose?”
“Thought it was fitting, red is our color after all,” Roy said softly, as he straighten out his own rose.
“Yeah, it is,” Tim murmured as Roy lead him further into the ballroom. Kon fell in step with them, taking Tim's hand. “Think I can sneak a dance in?”
“Not really sneaking if I know about it right?” Tim grinned as he leaned closer to Kon. Kon only smiled as he wrapped his arm around Tim's waist pulling him onto the dance floor.
“Surprised you didn't want the first one yourself,” Dick said as came up behind Roy.
“Next one's mine,” Roy said smiling, “besides, Kon's been waiting a lot longer than I have for this.”
Dick just nodded as they watched the two dance. When it came to Tim, Kon always wore his heart on his sleeve. The fact that Dick knew that they both had feelings for Tim didn't really surprise Roy at all. After a few moments Dick said “Jason's surprised though. He didn't think you'd get together till New Years.”
“You got a pool going there short pants?” Roy grinned as he snatched two drinks off a passing tray for them.
“Me? Oh no, would never think of that. Babs on the other hand . . “ Dick smiled as he sipped some of his drink.
“Hmm so who won?”
“ . . Damian.” Dick said with a grimace.
Out on the dance floor Tim looked over when he heard Roy's laugh and saw him talking to Dick, “Wonder what they're laughing about?”
“Hmm don't think your really want to know,” Kon chuckled as he swung Tim around in a tight little circle. They drifted around the dance floor, oblivious to anyone else. Each clutching at the other a little bit possessively as if they were afraid of losing the other.
When the last song of the set ended Kon tugged Tim off to a quiet corner. Tim tentatively reached out and traced the petals of Kon's own red rose that was pinned to his lapel. “Roy said red was our color.”
“Yeah, I think it suits us just fine,” Kon said before pulling Tim in for a kiss. Kon's lips were soft against Tim's, his tongue darted across the seam of Tim's lips before darting in and mapping out Tim's mouth.
“You kissed me,” Tim whispered as the kiss ended and he leaned his forehead against Kon's.
“Mistletoe,” Kon said, his eyes flickering up to the plant they were standing beneath. He pulled back to look at Tim. “Was that okay? To kiss you?”
Tim gave a warm smile as he cupped Kon's cheek. “Very okay,' he whispered before claiming another kiss.
“Damn I knew you'd be beautiful together,” Roy said sighing.
“Roy,” Tim whispered as the archer walked over, settling one hand on Kon's hip, the other cupping Tim's cheek as his thumb brushed over Tim's lower lip.
“So very beautiful,” Roy murmured before he claimed his own kiss. Roy tasted of wine, and like Kon's, his kiss was full of warmth and love tempered with desire. Tim let out a moan as the kiss ended all too soon but was rewarded with kisses along his jawline. Kon manhandled Tim between himself and Roy trapping him between as he began trail of kisses along the back of Tim's neck.
A soft cough brought the three back to reality, as they looked up to see Tam there. A blush was on her cheeks but here eyes were bright and dancing. “Sorry to interrupt - really sorry - but Mr. Albright is insisting to see you Tim. Right now.”
Tim made a sound between a moan and and a growl, “There is nothing that Albright could possibly need to discuss about tonight.”
Kon and Roy chuckled softly, they had gotten an earful of Tim's opinion of Albright when they had gone skating. “Go on, talk to the old wind bag. Tell him where to stick it and come back to us.” Kon smirked as he nuzzled Tim's cheek.
“Okay,” Tim said as reluctantly moved from the circle of Kon's arms. “But if I'm not back by sunrise send the dogs after me,” Tim said melodramatic as he headed into the thick of the party.
It didn't take Tm long to find Albright. The short, balding man was standing off to the side, lips curled in disgusted. “Ah Wayne, there you are. Terrible party, waste of money all around if you ask me.”
Tim felt his cheeks ache with keeping his smile in place. “ . .is there something you needed Mr. Albright?”
“Yes Wayne there is. Got some reports ya need to sign off on. You've been dodging them all week,” Albright said as he started walking, not bothering to see if Tim was following.
Tim sighed and with a great deal of effort followed after, the last thing he wanted was to spend more time with Albright. “I've been busy this week. I've been . . “
“Taking up the slack since Bruce is gone and loafing off. I guess even adopted apples don't fall far from the tree.” Albright said as he lead the way out of the ballroom to his office that was just down the way.
Tim let out a low growl but held his tongue, “Where are the reports?”
“Over there on the desk,” Albright said as he waved a hand towards his desk as he sat down heavily on a couch that was against the wall. “If you had been more diligent about your work you wouldn't have this problem.”
Tim mutter a few choice words under his breath as he crossed over to the desk and turned on the light - then paused as he saw . . “My snow globe?”
Without any prompting the snow globe glowed a soft silver and Tim without thinking reached out and touched it.
“My songbird,” Ra's voice filled the room on Tim's touch. “Forever mine.”
“You are pleased my Master?” Albright asked, seeming to bow in the direction of the snow globe.
“You have done well,” Ra's voice whispered. With each word the silver light swirled around Tim, seeming to sink into him.
“I live to serve the Demon's Head.”
“And now it is time for my song bird to fly to my side.”
“Tim sorry to interrupt,” Tam began as she just barged in “I thought you two might have headed for Mr. Albright's office and I just thought . . . what are you doing?”Tam exclaimed as she took in the sight.
“This doesn't concern you girl,” Albright said as he rose from his seat and pulled out a knife.
“Tim?! Tim! Get away from that thing!” Tam cried as she took a step backward as assassin advanced.
“He can't hear you anymore. He belongs to Ra's Al Ghul!” Albright said as he as lunged. Before he could reach Tam two glowing cards exploded at his feet knocking him down.
“Chere! Get out of here!” Remy said as he ran through the door and grabbed Tam's hand and pushed her through the door before turning on Albright again with his bo staff in his hand. Remy gasped as he looked over at Tim and saw that his friend's eyes had turned completely silver as he gazed down at the snow globe in his hands. Completely unaware of what was taking place in the room before him.“What did you do to him?!”
“He has been chosen by the Demon's Head and tonight the Demon claims what is his!” Albright growled as he slashed out with his knife only to be blocked by Remy's staff.
Tam ran back to the ballroom, her eyes frantic searching the room. She finally found the table that Dick was sitting at with Clint, Jason and Babs. “Dick! Dick! You got to go help Remy and Tim!
Dick got up and grabbed Tam by the shoulders, “Hey slow down. What's going on with Remy and Tim?”
“It's Albright. He - he works for Ra's Al Ghul, and that stupid snow globe Tim got is from him too. It's doing something to Tim - his eyes are glowing silver. Remy is trying stop Albright from taking Tim to Ra's Al Ghul.”
“Shit!” Jason growled.
“Jason with me. Clint go grab Roy, Kon and the others, Tam stay with Babs,” Dick said already in motion heading for the door. They ran down the hall, Jason already had his kris out in his hand. They burst into the room to see Albright and Remy facing off. The X-Men had driven the other man back with his charged cards. Tim was no where in the room.
“Albright!”Dick bellowed. “Where's my brother?!”
“Did not the girl inform you? He has gone to his Master's side like the obedient servant he is,” he said as he parried and attack by Remy.
“You did something to him!”Jason roared as he lunged with his own knife only to have Albright kick out at him.
“I did nothing but ensure the boy got the Demon's Head message to come home.”
“Wrong answer,” Kon said as he flew through the door and punching Albright just hard enough to knock him out.
Jason growled as he gave the prone man a kick. “Would have been more satisfying my way.”
“Enough. Where's Tim?” Roy demanded as he came in, taking Kon's hand pulling him closer as if afraid to lose him too.
“Tam said this was controlling Tim,” Dick said as examined the snow globe on the desk without touching it. “I guess it was brainwashing him.”
“Right in front of us,” Jason snarled.
“So what do we do now?” Remy asked. “Albright said dat Petite was going to Al Ghul.”
“He could have taken one of our vehicles,” Dick said, “Jason . . “
“On it big bird,” Jason said as he put in his ear piece, “Babsy you ready to work?”
“Down at the van Jay Bird,” Barbara said over the line. “What's going on?”
“Ra's got his hands on Timmy. We need to see if Tim took one of the cars or bikes.”
“His bike's gone,” Barbara said as her fingers flew over her keyboard. “But the tracer isn't working.”
“Thanks Babs,” Jason said, he looked up at Dick and said, “His bike's gone but the tracer's been deactivated.”
“Doesn't matter,” Kon said, his voice taking a hard edge to it. “I can find Tim without it.”
“Alright then,” Dick said. “Lets get Tim back and tell Ra's to get the hell out of Gotham.”

Kon flew over Gotham with his arm around Roy's waist, Kon listening intently for one of the two heartbeats he listens to every night. “There,” he said pausing, hovering in the sky. “Found him,”
They descended down till they were both able to see a black and red Ducati weaving in and out of traffic. “We got him,” Roy called to the others over his comm. “ He's heading west on Devon St.”
They dropped lower till they were practically behind the bike, “Maybe I can jump on board and get control without having to hurt Tim,” Roy suggested.
Before Kon could reply a black van pulled up along side Tim's bike. The bike doors were thrown open and five men with guns opened fire, red laser criss crossing in front of Kon and Roy driving them back into sky with Roy reporting, “We got unfriendlies!”
A stray laser got Kon in the ankle and he cried out as he wavered a little in flight. “Damn son of a . .”
“Kon!” Roy cried.
“I'm okay! I'm okay. Just feel a little weak. Who would make a red sunlight laser gun?”
“Apparently Ra's Al Ghul,” Roy said as he grabbed a miniature crossbow and fired at the van.
Two motorcycles that carried Jason and Gambit on them came into range, weaving back and forth to avoid the laser fire. “Go grab some air,” Jason's voice came over the comm. “Gumbo and I got the van!”
The familiar red-pinkish light of Gambit's charged playing cards lit up the night as they were thrown in the back of the van, rocking the van with small explosions, while Jason sped up on the other side of the van. After setting his bike on remote, he yanked the door open and began to fight his way in, subduing the driver.
By this time how ever enough of a distraction that Tim had disappeared into the traffic.
“Damn it! Where'd he go?” Kon said as he scanned the area.
“Don't worry we got him,” Steph said, through the comm. “He just entered the the new office building on Kingston Ave.”
“Everyone meet up at Supergirl and Batgirl's location,” Dick ordered.
Ten minutes later the group converged on the rooftop across from the building where the girls had seen Tim go in.
“So what's the plan?” Clint asked. “We go in the front door?”
“And the roof,” Dick said as he studied the building. “Divide up and on my mark we enter.”
“How about adding a third front?” Kara asked as she looked over Dick's shoulder.
“A third?”
Kara smiled as she wrapped her arm around Steph, “Just leave it to me and Superboy,” she said as she threw Kon a look. He nodded as he grabbed Roy's hand and followed his cousin.
“Alright then. Robin and I will take the roof. Red Hood, take Gambit and Hawkeye and go through the front.” Nightwing ordered.
“Right.”

“No Master there has been no sign of the Batman's other apprentices,” the sentry said into the phone. “Yes the boy has gone up. He will be with you shortly.”
The man sat back down as his two comrades patrolled around the large lobby of the first floor. The man who had just finished talking to the Demon's Head stared intently out the glass doors that lined the front of the building, as if daring someone to approach.
The squeal of tires brought the man to his feet as a familiar black van turned the corner and sped down the street toward the building. Without slowing down it jumped curb and barreled into the glass doors and plowed into the lobby scattering the guards and finally stopping as it crashed into the wall.
One of the guards slowly approached the van with his gun drawn and yanked the door open only to see no one there and the steering wheel and gas pedal rigged to drive right at the building.
Three motorcycles roared in after the van. Jason and the others stopped their bikes as they let lose a barrage of arrows, rubber bullets, and charged playing cards at the guards.
Jason leaped off his bike and tackled one the of the guards and then headbutting him, then letting him slip into unconsciousness, then kicking out at another guard when what sounded like an explosion shook the building. “Sounds like Supergirl started her party without us gents.”
“Then I say we go up and join it,” Clint said as he fired off a couple arrows. “It's not nice to keep a lady waiting.”
The three headed for the stairwell leading up Remy paused for a moment throwing one more card. “Sorry for da mess mes amies.”
Kara, Kon, Roy, and Stephanie
flew up to the twentieth floor. The two Krytonians used their heat vision to burn through the windows and then flew quickly inside. “So do you thing they know we're here?” Kon asked.
A sudden barrage of red laser fire answered Kon's question as the foursome dodged around a corner. “I'd say yes,” Stephanie said as she threw several batarangs down the hall.
Roy stepped out long enough to fire off some arrows and threw a punch that knocked out one of the gunmen that got too close. “Gotta take out those laser guns before they pin us down!”
“Right,” Kara nodded. She took a deep breath of air and ducked her head around the and blew. Five gunman went flying back knocking into the others and finally the wall.
“BG, you got some of those nice 'rangs that blows stuff up?” Roy asked as he readied on of his exploding arrows.
Stephanie snorted as she pulled out three, “Wouldn't be much of a Bat without them?”
“Thata girl. On my mark . . . one . . .two . .three,”They both lunged out letting lose their arsenal. The hallway rocked with the small explosion. Driving off the rest of the gunmen.
“We got more behind us,” Kon said a moment before more gunman appeared. Kon pulled Kara out of the way before the red laser beams could hit her, then firing his own heat vision at them melting two of the guns.
Suddenly a familiar sonic cry left the men unconscious and the foursome saw Black Canary and Green Arrow standing there.
“Not that I”m not glad to see ya,” Roy said, “But why aren't you in Japan?”
“Didn't take long to figure out that we were set up on a wild goose chase. Got a tip that Ra's was here,” Ollie said.
“Yeah he's here,” Roy growled.
“Been brainwashing Tim,” Kon added with a glare.
“Oh hell no,” Ollie said in shock.
“Batman is going to tear Ra's apart for that,” Canary said shaking her head.
“Speaking of the boss, where is B?” Stephanie asked.
“Took his own way in,” Ollie said. “I think he thought we'd slow him down.”
“Tim's probably already with Ra's now,” Kon said looking up as if to try to see his whereabouts.
'You guys go on We'll take care of things here,” Ollie said.
Ra's looked up at the ding of the elevator and stood up from his desk. The elevator doors opened and Tim walked out. A slack expression was on his face and his eyes glowed silver. Ra's smiled almost gleefully as he cupped Tim's cheek. “Finally my songbird. You have come to me.”
He took Tim's hand and lead him further into the room “Perhaps you are wondering in some corner of your mind that you're still clinging to how all of this happened?”
He lead Tim over to his desk and showed him a snow globe that almost matched his own. “Look familiar?” Ra's asked as he picked it up. Tim slowly reached out and touched it, his expression not changing. “The pair of them are hundreds of years old. Perhaps even older than I. They say a sorcerer created them. He wooed a maiden intent on making her his bride. But the girl's family disapproved of the match. So he created the snow globes to enchant her so at the right time she would leave her family and come to his side. But it wasn't enough for him. Enchantments can be broken so he created a third part to the snow globes.”
He waved his hand over to the windows and hanging from the ceiling was a sprig of mistletoe. “This sprig has survived for hundreds of years. Whoever stands beneath it willingly and kisses their mate is forever bound to them. Even if it's forced willingness. Soon dear Timothy we will be together. There is nothing to stop us.”
“Then I guess you can call us a couple of nobodies,” a voice said from behind.
Ra's whirled around to see Roy and Kon, “You!”
“Hi ya Ra's,” Roy said as he pulled back his bow.
Ra's pulled Tim to his side, “Do you really think I would believe you would attack if it would endanger Timothy?”
“Tim get away from him!” Kon said.
At the sound of Kon's voice Tim turned his head and looked over at the two. He clenched and unclenched his hands and for an instant the silver light faded from his eyes.
Ra's grabbed Tim's chin and forced him to look up at Ra's. “Timothy! Remember your place! Remember who your lord and master is!”
The silver light returned in intensity as he clung to Ra's. “Yes Ra's, I am yours,' Tim whispered.
“No!” Kon said as he flew toward Ra's with his hand clenched in a fist. Suddenly a red laser blasted him in the back and he went rolling to the floor.
“Kon!” Roy screamed as he ran to the fallen hero's side. As he helped Kon sit up, Roy looked behind him as a dozen ninjas walked in behind them, one holding one of the red sunlight laser guns.
“Kill them,” Ra's said as he wrapped an arm around Tim and guided him towards the mistletoe.
“Oh no,” Roy said as he gripped his bow. “You're not touching either of my boys.”
Roy let loose three arrows, which was deflected by a sword.
“I really hate ninjas,” Roy muttered.
“Let me have a shot,” Kon said as he gathered his remaining strength, touched the floor and let out a tendril of his TTK. The floor rippled and bulked beneath the feet, knocking some of the ninjas down.
“Damn, was hoping to knock them into the wall,” Kon said as he sagged a little.
“It's good enough fly boy,” Roy said as he shot off two more arrows, this time hitting their mark one hitting a shoulder the other a hand holding a sword. Then he charged in landing nerve strikes on the closest ones he met.
Then glass rained down on them as Batman dropped in from the skylight.
“Detective,” Ra's said as he pulled Tim tighter to him. “I was wondering how long it would take you to return home once my agents told me you left Japan.”
“Let Tim go now Ra's,” Bruce said as he advanced on the Demon's Head.
“I think not Detective. Too long have you denied me my song bird. After tonight he will be where he belongs,” Ra's said as he pushed Tim underneath the mistletoe.
Kon shook his head no as he launched himself at Ra's at the same time Bruce threw a batarang at the snow globe on the desk shattering it. Kon and Ra's tumbled across the floor. Ra's struck out at Kon making him lose his grip and got to his feet at the same time a silvery light from the broken snow globe radiated out, back lashing at Tim. With a strangled whimper, Tim fell to his knees.
“Timothy!” Ra's cried as he tried to get back to Tim, only to have Bruce kick his feet out from under him.
“Ra's, stay away from my son!” Bruce snarled.
Roy elbowed that last of his attackers and ran to Tim's side the same time Kon struggled to his feet and ran to Tim. They both caught Tim up in their arms and held him close.
Tim's eyes slowly opened the dark blue looking up at them both. “I choose you . . . I choose both of you.”
Roy and Kon both smiled and first Roy and then Kon kissed Tim softly. A golden light seemed to rain down on them from the mistletoe. It seemed swirl around them, slowly building in intensity till it was blinding bright.
When the light receded, the mistletoe, the broken snow globe, even Ra's and his men were all gone.
“What just happened?” Kon asked confused.
“It was the mistletoe,” Bruce answered “Three of you came together willingly and now are bounded together.”
From a hidden hallway a voice called out, “They're in here!” Bruce looked up to Dick and the others come in.
“Looks like we missed all the fun,” Jason said as he holstered his knife.
“How's Tim?” Stephanie asked. “Is he . .?”
“He fine,” Roy said as he stood up with Tim in his arms with Kon leaning on his shoulder for support. “He's going to be just fine.”
* * * * *
“Do you think they're actually aware that they're not alone in the room?” Clint mused as he watched Kon, Roy and Tim cuddle together on the couch. “It's like their in their own little world. None of us really are registering to them.”
“Zatanna says it's part of the bonding process,” Dick said. “In a week or so They're won't have the overwhelming need to be with each other.”
“Well I got hand it to you Bats. You sure know how to show a guy a fun time.” Clint smirked.
“What? Fighting ninjas and a near immortal is your idea of fun?” Dick asked.
“I've had worse times.”
“Then you ought to come by on Valentine's day. Ivy usually slips out of Arkham and throws some sex pollen around,” Dick said with a smirk.
“Sex pollen?” Clint said as he slid closer. “Tell me more.”
Kon chuckled on his place on the couch as he nuzzled Tim's head, “Sounds like your buddy is planning on spending some more time in Gotham.”
“Hmm sounds like something I could agree with,” Roy said as he took Tim's hand and kissed it.
“And here I was thinking of getting out of Gotham for a while,” Tim said.
“Planning a road trip little bird?” Roy asked softly.
“Well Bruce has this cabin, and I just thought it might be nice to spend a couple of days up there . . . if you guys want to that is,” Tim said as he nervously bit his lower lip.
“Timbo haven't you figured it out yet? We'd go anywhere you wanted to and that was even before all of this happening.” Kon said as he kissed the shell of Tim's ear.
“And a cabin in the woods is just what we need. . . . Without prying eyes watching us,” Roy said glancing in the direction of Bruce and Ollie.
Tim smiled softly as he leaned back on Kon. “I think they're taking this all rather well.”
Roy decided not to mention the conversation Bruce had cornered him into having. Not that it really was going to impact anything. The bonding only proved what he and Kon and known all along, the feelings between them were only going to get stronger. Tim and Kon were his and he was theirs and really Roy couldn't think of a better present to get.
